But that's just what she does. She never states anything specific as fact. She asks questions, and then can pivot based on the answer. She asks... "Did you think you saw your son...?" The answer is really no, but the victims are so eager to communicate that they make the leap for Caputo: "My mom did, she called me..." (Does the son not know the difference between mom and granny?) Then: "Did you bury him in casual clothes?" (Not at all unusual for people who die young, by the way...) But if they had answered "no, he was in a tuxedo," she could just say, "He's so glad that you dressed him up. Did he love to dress up?" and can just roll from there. Maybe she's for real, but I'd be much more likely to believe her if she'd just stated facts instead of fishing. "Did he have a girlfriend?" (Oh, it's you!) "He's down on his knee..." So transparent. I also wouldn't be surprised if her assistants and producers scanned social media for people who tagged themselves at the studio that morning, or who used the hashtags of Viera's show on Instagram. With an audience that size, it wouldn't be hard to find someone with lax privacy settings who copes with their fresh grief by posting about it to social media. (And the mom is so emotional, and she thinks she's talking to her dead son. OF COURSE she's getting goosebumps.)

Remember, some people aren't sure whether they believe this stuff, so it's important that skeptics speak up as well as believers, otherwise it's just indoctrination. Personally, I watch for two reasons - firstly to see IF it's real. I would love it if someone was truly psychic and could just TELL us stuff without having to ASK lots of questions and GUESS. When I see that the 'psychic' is just cold-reading people, I comment about that. Secondly, I find these liars so disgusting that I comment in order to show my distaste. I find it offensive that people make money exploiting the grief of others. If someone posted a video that was offensive to you - maybe something racist - then you might watch so that you could object to it. It's the principle of Free Speech and that's a good thing.

This means that she can look up information of those who are going to attend until she finds enough she can use. Facebook for example is a very good source for finding out all kinds of details. Furthermore, if the audience have been speaking to each other before she could have listened to what was being said, and this gives her even more information. Combining information gathering with cold reading you can find out pretty much anything.

My heart is so heavy right now, I lost two friends Monday in the Texas a&m shooting. One of the sisters left behind her son. Her ex shot and killed both of them + also shot the baby but he’s still alive. He was left alone with his dead mother and aunt until they found them. I was a PA on this show and backstage during this taping. My mom and family is actually in the audience. As a PA you handle all of the guests that come in along with your associate producer. The guests never have any knowledge of the audience. Most of the time the audience are straggling tourists who decided to sit on the line and watch the show. I interned there as well and sometimes was assigned to audience duty so i know the procedures. We don’t even tell the audience who the guests are. There is absolutely NO feeding info to the guests, most of the time they shoot first so they don’t even see the audience until they walk on stage. Meredith herself doesn’t even see them or converse with them before the show. The only info the guests know ahead of time is the questions MEREDITH herself will ask her as to prepare them and leave enough time in case a guest refuses to talk about certain issues. (Scandals, run ins w. The law. Etc) i was a sceptic if Theresa as well, but i spoke to the woman who lost her son and the girlfriend myself and they were in shock about the info she knew. My own producer sat in w. Theresa who gave her a reading and walked out of the room hysterically crying. She’s the real deal. This is not rehearsed she went on stage with no knowledge of the audience. We don’t even know who the audience members are really until they show up as i said sometimes it’s random ppl off the street. So i can attest that no information was ever fed to her she walked out on the stage and did whatever she wanted to do.

Some of you are really negative. That's too bad. It's sad that the truth can be right in your face and you choose to deny what you see and sense for yourself. I am an empath/intuitive. I can do what Teresa Caputo does. These things we do are mistakenly referred to as our gifts. The truth is that every person has the same "gifts". Those of you who can't see the manipulation she has on her audience may be shrugging with your faith in the god that you have been raised to believe in or your agony with the loss of a loved one has consumed you. Mediums may be a kind of "Proof" you need to validate your faith. The real truth to Theresa and those like her, KNOW they are conning people.
