Excellent presentation. Truly the laws of God are a loving gift to mankind. Tragically most seminaries and churches teach that it is a curse instead of a blessing. If we are to have another Great Awakening in the West this faulty theology must be addressed. May God use this podcast as a teaching tool for Christians throughout the world.

So I watched the video with mike Winger a few months ago and then again this week when Winger reposted on his channel. I didn’t find Webbin convincing or even coherent, so I watch this and this guest is no better. Time to admit y’all are just making this stuff up.

Everything they are saying is completely coherent. If you are not understanding them, the problem is most likely YOU. One first must understand the foundational doctrines that were recovered in the Protestant Reformation, which Mike Winger doesn't. To watch this video in isolation, apart from the supporting Biblical Reformation doctrines and trying to understand the basis for what's being said is impossible.

@@briancoles4249 You would do well to listen more to Joel Webbon. And for that matter, Jeff Durbin, Doug Wilson, Joseph Boot, Toby Sumpter, Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham and others who are much more solid on the gospel and Christian issues than Mike Winger. He's a Calvary Chapel guy who is very weak doctrinally. I'm not saying he's wrong on everything, just many things.

These men are not my heroes, but I do appreciate sound doctrine and application of doctrine. Sounds like Mike's yours though. I spend more time reading books from the 1500s to 1800s than I do listening to podcasts on the internet, not that I need validation from a random guy on KZbin.

Love this discussion, great hermeneutical work here. Of course some us who are not post-mil have no issue with the lawless one to come as we are not having to find out who he may have been, recognizing that no one has yet to fit the terms used in II Thessalonians 2:6ff. It just so happens that is the text in our preaching through Thessalonians that we are coming to this Sunday! :-) Again, wonderful work of labor through the general literal and contextual used of the Work otherwise used here in regard to God's Law; very helpful!

I am a thoenamist, I find the general equity of God's Law under the New Covenant laid out for us in the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. I know of no other man or group of man capable of teaching us the exact continuity and discontinuity from Law to Gospel than Jesus and His Apostles. If there is such an authority I would like to know it. What exactly constitutes the 'moral' component of the Law and who is to say? What is the difference between the nation state of Israel and the church and secular states we live in simultaneously? What exactly is the freedom of believers in the NT? I uphold that the Law is holy, righteous, and good, but I will follow the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles to understand it's application or 'repositioning' in the New Covenant not on my ability (or yours) to figure out a 'general equity' by going back to the Law - as I trust fully that Jesus fulfilled all the Laws requirements for me.

I read Dr Boot's book THE MISSION OF GOD. Great message, but there were so many typos that I can recommend it to others only with a caution. Another couple of rounds of proof-reading would have really helped.

@Ephesians-2:8-9 -- You have reading comprehension problems. How could I have said the book contained a great message if I was unable to understand it? But as a trained proof-reader I find typos to be very irritating, especially when I find them on just about every page of a book. All I am saying is that the publisher of Dr Boot's books needs to step up its game.

Wilberforce Publications (who published this book) dropped the ball on this one. I hope this was an abberation, and not their normal MO.

Do you understand the makers of this video sell the gospel knowing every time they take more money they kill more people with covid and they are still doing it. They have known this for over 2 years. That proves to you they serve satan. Anyone still attending that the churches must repent for supporting evil murderers and never go back if they want out of the Great Tribulation that started September 1st I am Elijah and I'm the 4Runner to the return of Jesus and that also means I have the final say on what is truth and what is not. Male and female is determined by gender located in the brain and anyone saying otherwise is also in the Great Tribulation that started September 1st until they either repent and accept truth or wait too long and die.

Blessed 2023 The reason Theonomy is to be rejected is because the Apostles in Acts 15 rejected it. We will not put the Law of Moses on the Gentiles. Of course they reiterated sexual immorality and Idolatry. Every book of the New Testament contrasts the Law of Moses with walking by the Holy Spirit. All The Law was to be obeyed perfectly the book of James says. Galatians the Whole book explains that the Law of Moses shows our sin and points to the need of the Savior Jesus Christ. Colossians 2 says the Law of Moses, was the Law of ordinances that were against us were nailed to the Cross for all and from then on. Theonomy is not Biblical, Preaching the death, and resurrection of Jesus for reconciliation of God and man is the only Biblical mandate until Christ’s return where every eye will see Him

I think there are some folks who espouse theonomy but not the Reconstructionism that seeks to make the Law of Moses the law of today's society. It needs clarification. I haven't heard this video yet.

Well, he kinda corrects Moses and his people on divorce. Jesus new instructions are as the Master to his servants. They are in line with the law.

I would love to hear how a fellow theonomist justifies "Sabbath" on Sundays, when the scripture is very clear that the sabbath is the 7th day. Lords Day celebration/worship can be Sunday, but that doesn't mean we should go against the 10 commandments and not rest on Saturday.

Christ met with his disciples post-resurrection on Sundays. The only thing that could change the creational norm of Saturday Sabbath is a new creation, and lo and behold: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

@@Cinnamonbuns13 Meeting with people on Sunday is totally cool, I'm all for celebrating the Lord's day. I have no doubt that we could come up with a bunch of cool sounding reasons for doing sabbath on Sunday. The problem is that nowhere does the Bible explicitly say that the day of the sabbath could change. It's always peoples theology and church tradition vs the actual clear teaching of God's word.

I also find it interesting that Protestants follow the Catholic Apostolic Tradition of Sunday sabbath, when there is NO direct command in scripture. Yet, they do not realize what they are following is Catholic Tradition (much like their acceptance of the NT scriptures)
