regarding that question about countries' footballing strength, corruption is also a big part of it, whether that's at the federation level or the grassroots level. people siphoning money away from the places where the money should be spent and putting it in their own pockets prevents the infrastructure from developing properly, and corruption is unfortunately quite deep-rooted in indian society (as it is in many other developing countries)

Micah's story about the books is very relatable! I remember going to the Isle of White for a football tournament aged 16, and coming back to find out my Mum had 'sorted out' my book shelf above the bed.
