It's time to start putting stuff back after all that demolition, today I use old joists to frame out a new ceiling and there is a big design change to make!

Looking good, right decision to go over rather than under IMO, what a shame about the wall plates, another job another day but annoying to not have it done before embarking on this project I guess - time and funds = compromise !

Looks lovely! Ice cream earned. Might have used screws instead of nails if you're taking the wood down too!

If you fix the the ceiling timbers 200mm higher you can use akros to support roof when yo change wallplate without taking roof off

Looking positive. Are you going to put some insect mesh over the airbrick? Ripe for new wasps nests up there otherwise

A quick question Tim, seeing as you've done some loft insulation on this video. I recently topped up my Rock wool Insulation but had the centre loft boarded with a thin layer of rock wool underneath it. I would like to insulate over the chipboard with rock wool or Kingspan as you have done but I am worried about condensation. your advice, please.

I was thinking that this project would make a good playlist during the last video. I'm still thinking that spraying a bleach solution over the areas that you removed the rat droppings would be good to do pre-painting and post painting a couple of times to avoid devaluing your expensive pig related products...if you have anything heavy to go up in the loft space there's a chance that you could get a shelf up which could take a lot more weight than the roof. You could end up losing space because of this. Also with anything food related up there, spraying the end walls with a bleach solution may not be a bad idea even if nothing comes into contact with it. There's also a chance you could drop some 4x2 down from the main beam on the roof to strengthen the loft floor.

Fortunately no really big hygiene demands as this room will only be for packaged frozen produce. A separate room will be created for any food production if/.when we need it. That said, we gave it a through wash down before freezers moved in. 👍

Always go for an open ceiling with exposed beams, at least you can see what’s going on in the roof and the last thing you want is a new infestation of rats?
Do you choose Inside Out 2 or The Amazing World of Gumball? 🤔
