This xenomorph design was how the aliens were originally intended to look. They did make the domes, but they were removed out of concern that they would end up cracking while filming some of the action sequences. Hence, the bare ridged head look became a thing.

John Rosengrant, The Late Stan Winston's protege at Stan Winston's Studios said in the ALIENS making of documentary that this Concept Warrior was made with the Dome to be in the movie and that they were proud by recreating H.R. Giger's original ALIEN design with a few mods, but Director James Cameron ordered them to remove the domes because they were going to brake in the action scenes. Cameron also stated that to him the Ridged Headed Aliens are basically older Aliens, the Dome ones are essentially younger but as the grow older they loose the dome and some physical changes happen to the Aliens to make them look as they did in the film. I like this explanation, or also to me the Domed Aliens are more as the protectors of the Alien Queen, while the Ridged headed Warriors are the Cannon Fodder.

The feet are warped. Heat the plastic with a hairdryer, bend them into shape and then put the feet into a bowl of icy water. Should help a bit.

Where did you get that display stand for burke, or name? Necas own only have one peg so having a display stand with two pegs would be way better. Until I can get their bigger display stand with the clamp thing but those are expensive.

have you tried rotating the knee joint around, then rotate the foot around so the angles match? I'm think maybe the calf section is backwards and the thigh and shoe are on properly, thus causing the standing issue?

Full explination. The Stan Winston guys originally built the warriors for the film to be "more or less" a 1:1 replica of the Giger design, with a few exceptions. The fingers and feet were redesigned, the arms were given "blade" like appendages, and the design was slightly simplified for greater mobility. There were hero versions of the suit, and versions that were little more than foam-latex pieces glued onto a leotard. This allowed the stuntmen and dancers to really bounce around inside the suits. The team at SWS was really proud of how well they replicated the heads. James Cameron made the call to take the dome off for two reasons. One, the dome was prone to scuffing and cracking doing all the immense stunt work required. He also found the more ridged shape under the dome to be of more visual interest. You can see what James Cameron was thinking when you watch the scenes in the hive when the Aliens first wake up. Their ridged heads catch light and just look very aggressive.
