Hey all, commissioner here! Therewolf did an insane job on this track as you all can hear and even added some brilliantly done tenor sax for me as I told him I play tenor sax! I love the Sam and Max series a whole lot from a friend who got me into it and Regular Show was one of the best shows to grow up with! Wanted a unique jazzy song so this came out perfectly! @@xtraveller8596I chose Sam and Max because I like these characters a lot and wanted a commission with them. I just happened to like both pair of characters a lot and wanted a jazzy track which all of Sam and Max’s music is extremely jazzy. The main reference for Sam and Max was Sam and Max Save the World Main theme which you can immediately hear the inspiration. As for connections well they’re both anthropomorphic animal duos who go on adventures that usually go from 0 to 100 out of nowhere. The crazy shenanigans Regular Show is known for, Sam and Max also go through on the regular, whether fighting a Gorilla Space Emperor, a timeline resetting Pharaoh, a planet busting villain named Lactose the Intolerant, or even Eldritch Gods they always happen to come out on top while making a whole bunch of jokes along the way. The humor of Sam and Max is something I’ve always loved as well as it’s quick and casual but is well thought out.

1:00 - 1:15 I imagine this playing while Mordecai and Rigby are on the cart, trying to get away from Sam and Max. Yet they both get onto the cart, with Rigby noticing. Rigby: “Dude! They’re in the cart!” Mordecai: “Aw, What?” Rigby: “Shake them off, quick!” Mordecai makes the cart spin as he normally would, making Sam hold onto the cart with his legs in the air, holding Max by one of his arms. ​@eyistohernandez2996 To be fair, can you really mind hack someone who's immune to hypnosis and has resisted a Men In Black style mind wipe in addition to retaining his memories through a reality reset? As for the DeSoto stuff, it did make a drive from New York to Antarctica and then the White House in under 14 seconds, and it is one of four methods the Freelance Police have used to travel in time (the DeSoto once drove back in time to WW2 in the comics, the cartoon had them use a time travel watch and a UFO with time travel capabilities, and the TellTale games had them use a time traveling elevator). Other than that, the only thing I can think of is Sam & Max getting hit by a heat beam that at max power could destroy a planet (but the beam can shoot at lower intensities), but that's about it. Gonna be honest, they do lose this matchup, but it would be cool to see Sam & Max in a fight proper (with my preference being Max vs. Monokuma).

@@eyistohernandez2996the reason I like this is because both go from 0 to 100 constantly out of nowhere. Both have counters to everything and have so much shenanigans it’s hard to keep up with. It’s not a simple answer at all who wins as both have fought universe and literal eldritch gods (Yog Soggoth). All are very fun characters in this way but giving Sam and Max absolutely everything it’s very possible they win since they can really scale the same as Mordecai and Rigby and Max can turn into an eldritch god. Both have consistently time traveled, both deal with crazy situations on the daily, both have an extent of toon force. It really could go either way

And when the world needed Finn & Jake VS Mordecai & Rigby the most, it vanished. Only to be replaced by something *groovy.* I'll admit that my knowledge of both of those series is minimal at best beyond their names but I still knew that this track would provide something extremely unique. And I was proven right when listening to this. It's so freaking unique. It sounds like the child of a rock and jazz song that both had one too many drinks during the conception of this one. And that provides one hell of a funky song in the best of ways. The way the track shifts between softer jazzy segments and more genuinely epic-sounding parts is freaking amazing. Adds lots of dynamism and scale to the song. It's hard to choose one segment in particular because it's a very overarching theme but it's a sequential pattern where we get one jazzy calm part that then slowly transitions into a much more epic and action-focused rock segment with some variation here and there and that's just the perfect dynamic for the matchup as it fits from the little I know of the characters: comedic moments mixed in with more action-based ones. Speaking of the more intense segments, I must mention the 1:00-1:15 leitmotif which, first of all sounds epic, but second of all I'm almost certain I've already heard before in something quite popular but I can't seem to figure out what it's from as I don't believe it's from either franchises ? Could be wrong tho. Either way it's great so I don't mind. That aside given I can't say much else due to my ignorance of the characters, I still want to mention the ending at 3:02 and beyond which I find simply fantastic. It's such a great culmination of the jazzy and rock mix that the whole track has. It's perfectly fluid, fully catchy and of course sounds absolutely amazing that the only gripe I have about it is that it isn't longer because of how good it is, which is a pretty good reflection of the track as a whole when thinking about it. Overall this is a song that I for sure knew would be good but that I still was extremely pleasantly surprised with because it's freaking fantastic. It's so damn catchy and generally enjoyable that I'm pretty sure it's considered an addictive substance in most countries. And that combined with the fact that it seemingly fits the matchup and characters too just makes it better. Absolutely amazing work with this as always.

Cue a flashback of Benson yelling yelling to them Benson: If you two screw this up again, YOU'RE FIRED It then cuts to Sam and Max Sam: Grab the horn max. Tell em to pull over. Max then pulls out a megaphone and yells Max: PULL OVER RIGHT NOW AND I WE WILL FILL YOUR SCROTUM WITH LESS BULLET HOLES! Sam: You crack me up little buddy It then cuts to Mordecai and Rigby making a sharp turn, but since they were going so fast, a toolbox that was conveniently in the cart opened up, and made a wrench fly back. Rigby looked like he was about to catch. But the wrench went flying all the way to Sam and Max's car Sam: Sweet butted coated biscut on roller scates in the middle of the egypt surfing down the great pyramid of Gyza! Max: OHOHOHO I've been itching for this!!! Sam and Max now thinking they threw the wrench, pull out their guns and began shooting the golf cart

Max is quite a bit near unkillable. Max admitted to surviving things with physics that could have killed him. (Like mentioning managing to squeeze through a toilet was near fatal if I recall.) Mordecai and Rigby have a lot of defenses and a forbidden fighting technique or two in their repertoire. Sam is also robotically protective of the near invincible Max as well. To the point where he won't let you touch him in a battle very lightly. But be that as it may, the detective duo pretty much solves their mysteries more than battles with them. I don't know if Sam and Max saw senseis on-screen, survived cardiac arrest from a forvidden sandwich, or won the high score at Broken Bonez. I think the bird and racoon might edge this out. But very roughly. If I recall, Sam and Max have lore I am not too aware of as well.

Has anybody seen the old Sam and Max cartoon from the 90's ? It's pretty funny with them having all sorts of crazy weapons along with the old favorite of Death Battle cartoon characters toon force. Also whether you like it or hate it there's always Max's psychic powers which include a lot of weird toy shaped weapons.

I say Max starts it, he's got an itchy trigger finger, barely any self-restraint, and is the Freelance Police member to resort to violence quicker. As for how, I imagine it'd be due to Max and Rigby getting into a heated argument (that the Freelance Police starts, given how often they'll just insult someone right in front of them) and Max will just draw his gun out of anger.
