Hi Kelly and Rick. Thank you Kelly for your kind words, regarding the 2nd loss of a child, right before Christmas. While you are a celebrity and public figure, too many in your position would not have taken the time to reply to my comment about our loss. You both show a side of yourselves that is so genuine and sincere. As I stated a while back in a comment, your marriage reminds me of ours. Like a sailboat out on the water. Kelly, like me you are the sail, and Rick, like my husband, you are the anchor. All working to make for smooth sailing, even in rough waters. Again, thank you for reaching out to me. Rick & Kelly my husband & I built a new home & moved in before it was completed,he's a contractor & worked on other people's, so we lived in a construction site. We didn't have the flooring down & 2 of our bathrooms wasn't complete. It's worth living in your own place & grateful & thankful. I live in Oklahoma we have a lake in our yard & today so far 6 inches of snow. I enjoy your podcast you make me smile. I pray you stay safe from fire & smoke. Be blessed.

Karen Bass needs to be held accountable , full stop. She should be charged with criminal abandonment, something. We live on the west side, I had been receiving texts days prior WARNING about this upcoming dangerous wind event and high risk fire danger. THIS was definitely not preventable but had the fire dept had proper funding and LEADERSHIP on the ground IN Los Angeles, the magnitude of the loss could have been mitigated. We, like you, personally know many who lost so much. I have one childhood friend who JUST finished a new build in Malibu. YEARS of construction planning and design, now a pile of burned rubble. Her previous house in Malibu she built from the ground up, gone. DEVASTATING.💔.

Absolutely Newsom, the Mayor and Fire Chiefs responsibility. No water in reserves…why…tore down the dams to safe a fish. Forests are not being maintained for fire control. Mayor cut budget… Not enough fire fighters. Sent reserve equipment to Ukraine… That is just the tip of incompetence…. Least we not forget, people had their insurance cancelled…just prior to the fires… Horrible…just horrible!

One of my best friends lost her house in the fire yesterday…. She also lost her mom very unexpectedly in December so it’s been devastating for her. 😢💔Rick Caruso should run for governor! People that aren’t millionaires that live in normal houses in Pasadena/Altadena that lost everything are going to have a harder time rebuilding than the multimillionaires unfortunately 😩

These fires are horrific.....I feel so bad for all of the people who have lost everything. In our move to Florida 2 years ago, we purchased a home that was constructed with block which can withstand fire and hurricanes better than many other materials. We live next to a large preserve and during the dry season, I always worry about fire. We have a plan and supplies if we ever have to leave quickly.

My great uncle built an adobe and stucco ranch house with a tile in San Diego area. When the Scripps Ranch fire happened it was the only house left standing in the neighborhood. That material doesn’t burn! It has withstood 2 big wild fires over the years.

I grew up years ago and left California grew up in Bakersfield, but you have to blame the governor in the mayor. They do not clean the under brush. They’ve been talking about this for years and years. Shame on them and God go with the people that are affected by this fire in the families that have lost loved ones.🙏🙏

In a place where there’s always constant fires going on why would you not prioritize water in the hydrants for this kind of disaster those poor people’s lives and animals and homes is disgusting and I pray for all of them. This just doesn’t make any sense not enough water because they wanted to save a fish or fishes and the irony is I bet you they eat sushi.

Fire season is now 12 months season. Fires usually start in the mountains in the passes funneling wind through the 14 and 15 freeways. Newsom is to blame. No reservoirs because he feels smelt fish are more important and he dumps our water into the ocean. The world now sees how ridiculous it is here in California.

My husband worked for the fire department for 30 years and our son is currently working for the fire department and working right now out in Pacific Palisades. I am all for equal opportunity for women, but when it comes to a very hard physical job, there are very very few women who would be able to pull out my 230lb.(plus the weight of his equipment) husband if he were to have gone down in a fire. I own my house outright in Florida and I still pay homeowners insurance. That’s a personal decision, do you have enough money that you can suffer a total loss minus land value or do you pay to protect your asset? We worked our whole lives to own our home and I wouldn’t be frivolous to risk it all to save several thousands per year. It’s Florida by the beach, my homeowners is 6k per year.

I heard a fireman explain some of the steps you should take when you know a fire is coming. Like have your birth certificates all the important papers. Then your meds and pet meds should be in a zip lock bag roll up a some underware and shirts put them also in a ziplock he was all about the ziplock bages so you dont drop or lose things also protects them . Move your furniture to the middle of the rooms . Tear down the curtains because windows i are the fires entry . Also if you have a pool throw you outdoor furniture in the pool . Dont worry about the other stuff it can be replaced. Just a few tips he shared. He also said to remove all the brush and all flammable materials from around your house.

Prayers for the brave firefighters, was palisades fire arson, some article was investigating, I sure hope not. Will you guys have a pool in new place, when I worked in CA and there were fires , many people were draining pools and hosing down land around their house. Best wishes on your move😉

Everyone should be able to have it.I thought I had it bad with no power or heat for 48 hours but it doesn't take long to see that some people have it even worse. I pray for all the people and animals that are affected by the fires. Elon should invent fire proof houses. 😮
