Therion - Nifelheim

Niflheim ("reino da neblina") - o segundo dos três mundos inferiores.
Na direção Norte, no eixo horizontal, acima da raiz mais profunda a "raiz subterrânea" es tá situado o rei no de Niflheim, um mundo frio e coberto de névoa. Local onde a água surge da condensação da neblina aquecida pelas brisas quentes de Muspelheim. Niflheim
participou juntamente com Muspelheim da criação de Midgard, do vazio primordial de Ginungagap; é da li que sai, no Ragnarök, o navio dos mortos, Naglfari, conduzido por Loki.
O mundo dos mortos, um lugar pobre de frio. De Midgardh é um passeio de nove dias para chegar o uivo ponte Gjallarbru, que leva sobre o Gjoll rio limítrofe. Modgud está guardando essa ponte. Há uma conexão com Muspellheim, que é vigiado pela Surt firegiant. Niflheim e Muspellheim são a geada primitiva e a centelha primordial, que são separados pelo abismo de Ginnungagap.
O reino do gelo e do frio na mitologia nórdica. Está localizada ao norte de Ginungagap e lá reside os anões e gigantes de gelo, em companhia dos que não morrem em batalhas (os guerreiros mortos em batalha vão para o Valhala). Niflheim é governada pela rainha do inferno (Helgardh), Hel, filha de Loki com uma gigante, sendo que a mesma foi pessoalmente apontada por Odin para esta posição. Metade do corpo de Hel é normal, enquanto que a outra metade se encontra apodrecida). Nilfheim é dividida em diversos níveis. Um destes níveis foi projetado para os heróis e deuses, onde Hel preside as festividades entre eles. Outro nível é reservado para as pessoas idosas, os doentes e aqueles que foram incapazes de morrer gloriosamente no meio da batalha e entrar no Valhala. O nível mais baixo de Nilfheim se assemelha a versão cristã do inferno, onde os maus são forçados a viver para sempre.
Em alguns trechos da mitologia nórdica é dito que as raízes mais profundas da árvore Yggdrasil estão enterradas nesta região. Agora um mundo gelado e vazio governado por Hel, e mergulha no rio Vergelmar, o ponto de origem dos 11 rios que contribuíram para a criação do mundo. É neste lugar que o dragão Nidhoggr e sua prole rói as raízes da árvore. Nastrand (Costa dos Cadáveres) é a região onde vive Nidhoggr e suga os corpos dos mortos.
Jormungand é o segundo filho de Loki com a gigante Angrboda. Tem como irmãos o lobo Fenris e Hel. Jormungand tem o aspecto de uma gigantesca serpente.
De acordo com a Edda em Prosa, Odin raptou os três filhos de Loki, sendo Jormungand jogado no grande oceano que circula Midgard, aonde viveu desde então. A serpente cresceu tanto que seria capaz de cobrir a Terra e morder sua própria cauda. Como resultado disso, ganhou o nome alternativo de Serpente de Midgard ou Serpente do Mundo. O arqui-inimigo de Jormungand é o deus Thor.
Durante o Ragnarök, ela se libertará e cobrirá a terra e os céus com seu veneno.

Realmente não sei se a banda conhece esses trabalhos, mas creio que os integrantes tenham interesse particular de ver seus trabalhos divulgados na net, talvez evitem se expor. Sobre engrandecer a obra, só dei vida a letras excepcionais e virou isso que ver. rs Therion é uma fonte de riqueza cultural, histórica e espiritual. Obrigado pela força!

Hi, since Nifelheim is my favorite song from Secrets of the Runes and I'm a fan of music videos, I thought I'd leave a comment. There were many cool moments: I liked the introduction and I loved how it transitioned to the song starting from the axe falling into the ice. The overlay of the ingraved stone tablet was a nice touch. Most of the clips (videogames, I'm guessing? I'm not a gamer so I wouldn't know) give a great atmosphere of ancient past and lend it some surrealism.

Cont: The outro was pretty good, I loved how it came back to the axe. Overall, I liked the atmosphere for most of the video but it felt about shizoid, like it didn't know whether it was about a primordial world or about humans trying to inhabit a cold place; the two subplots felt disjointed. That said, I watched your Dark Venus Persephone too, and it was amazingly good, the only thing I didn't like was the subtitles covering the images, lol. Carry on, such music needs illustration!

Cont: I'm torn about the image of the serpent going around the tree: on one hand the cartoonish style breaks the overall style of the video, but on the other, it flows with music brilliantly. It could use some video-gamey overlay to bring it closer to the general video style. The scenes from Vikings, though, did't fit at all, in my opinion. Visually, they broke me right out of that surrealistic mood.

Cont: And they (the scenes from the Vikings) always appeared at the exact same moments in the chorus. It was treating the part about making your life in the cold too literally. At the very end I got a bit bored by all the serpents, it was just too repetetive and again, it wasn't necessary to show serpents just because the words Jormungand and Nidhogg appeared. (I loved the earlier sequence with the dragon though.)

A letra não era no nórdico arcaico = sueco? Só mesmo europeus que adoram barulho com esse idioma e cultura maravilhosos para misturar tão perfeitamente seu elemento erudito com metal, é a única banda boa dentro do próprio subgênero, para quem não é fâ fâ de metal no filtro que se faz o deggial é uma obra prima pela melhor qualidade de coros e técnica do som, em especial pelo baterista desses dois álbuns, nesse aqui o som tá mais baixo e menos pesado, as musicas são menos legais, mas segue a linha depois deu uma decaída, ja foi melhor, talves ficaram soberbos, grana, ou pelos os caras ter ficado velhos ter perdido a criatividade, um abraço, e ainda tem imbecil achando que ficar velho tem alguma vantagem, só ser for depois da cova.
