WOW funk to the nth degree! I can’t wait to play with an attitude and will. That Neville groove is sweet. I’m realizing more how to experiment with rhythm inspired by your guitar channel lessons. Thanks Shane. That’s a cool long sleeve shirt you’re wearing too BTW.🤗

Great FUN(K) chord! Thankyou. One of my favourite Funk chords is the James Brown chord like C9 with a 5th on top and sliding back and forth from the 6th and flat 7.

That Peavey amp makes me smile every time I see it. Do you every take it on the road?
@TheRiotguitar

no I don't have a road case for the head. I tried once but it wouldn't fit in my amp cases. Plus it's not exactly built to take a beating like a Soldano or old Fender is.....

I'm a bass player but i still like to learn what's happening with chord voicings. This is an excellent video, thanks! Edit: at one point you mentioned you still had a flat 7 down in the lower end. Would that make a min13? Does that exist?
@TheRiotguitar
@TheRiotguitar 7 күн бұрын
min 13 is actually what that voicing I'm playing at the beginning is. It's kinda the same thing but technically any extension above the octave is a 9-13.....so min 6 is the same as min13 but the 6 would be up an octave. in the video I put the 6th in the bass on the 4th string .

@TheRiotguitar are you still playing with le combo? I really dig what I've seen and heard. Yall should do a Lil tour around my area because I'm selfish lmfao Tori Amos lives here, it's a music hot spot. Might not pay the big bucks but you'd be surrounded by music lovers in tropical paradise!

@@TanyaNeedham-z1e Wish he’d bring LeCombo back to us here in the East Coast. The group is so awesome! There are a few venues here too.LeCombo is really good. Shanes voice is raw and powerful! Think we’re both selfish for an amazing musician.

I love that chord. Question: It looks like you are playing the flat 7 on the D string, so wouldn’t that make this a 13th since it’s now a dominant chord?
@TheRiotguitar
@TheRiotguitar 7 күн бұрын
it's not dominant unless it has a major 3rd with the b7....but technically it is a min 13th....or 6th....13th if it's above the octave
