Sauce-y quickie Jeff and I love it. Supporting tomatoes will most definitely help improve yield, air flow (which helps keep pests off) and make sure nutrients are reaching every part of that growing powerhouse.

It's gonna be a booming year for the Romas this year !! I planted extra seeds I saved from last year in case some decided not to germinate, every one of them did so I've got tomato plants in almost every veggie and flowerbed on the property LOL And that's after giving lots away to friends and neighbours

Beaumont. Yep it was havoc on my garden. Only things that didnt get soaked were the peppers and bush tomatoes i had in bags that I was able to move. Hopefully at least some of my in ground plants make it thru. Really unfortunate since this year everything was booming better than I have ever had before.

Hi I reside in Puerto Rico originally from NYC and very interested in planting vegetables. I jumped right into it not studying the many details it entails. I started with planting potatoes and tropical root vegetables in containers, following the steps regarding the contents the soil requires. The potato plants were growing well then within three weeks suddenly the leaves turned all yellow and died the potatoes had formed. I bought a pH testing kit found that the soil lacked NPK nutrients. The same happened the tubers, I salvaged those by transferring them into the ground so far so good, except for a frog that’s nibbling at the plants in which I sprinkled baking soda around them. It appears that I am not giving the soil I purchased enough nutrients I had purchased the combination of top-soil and garden soil. for containers if I was able to find the correct soil. When I purchased the top soil I was told it has compost but now I’m not to sure. I’m requesting your advise I have about 80-lbs. of that soil including soil with a mixture of sand for different types of vegetation (for tubers). The soil is quite an expense for it not to be utilized, can it become beneficial for me. I would appreciate your advice and assistance please and thank you Sir! P.s. I had purchased a small amount of mineral elements you had mentioned about two months ago consisting of rock phosphate, epsom salt, glazer rock dust, etc. just to be ready for what you will advise. 4:27

I need that watering video, please. I still don't have the hang of what infrequent but deep watering means and my tomatoes do show signs of curling leaves. What does it look like when the plant is too dry?

Hi Jeff, concerned with my tomatoes they are showing shades of yellowing at 1-1/2 months. The current routine: Transplanted into the larger seedling cells 2 weeks ago, last week fed them fish fertilizer; I realized today Sunday instead of giving them 2-liters when watering I gave 1-liter also I still have them indoors on glow lights. I would appreciate your suggestion(s). Please and thank you Jeff!
@TheRipeTomatoFarms Жыл бұрын
They likely need real sun by this point. Also, most tomato varieties outgrow cells of any size by about a month of age.

Jeff, I have two black krim tomato plants that are about 4-5 feet tall without any blossoms. If I trim it off will it "start over" or die off? I'm in central Florida and its getting pretty hot now. Thanks for your help with this question.

You mentioned, 5-7 gallons for a tomato. Was that for a determinate or indeterminate? I thought 10 gallon minimum for a determinate and 20 gallon for an indeterminate? I do use root pouch grow bags, solid as they come.
