Thank you so much ! I usually continually chop back for longer leaf season for tacos and pico de gallo, but this year I decided to let a patch go to seed. I'm excited to get some seeds for winter curries. And I'll do the viability test on some to start next spring :)

I started cilantro and oregano seeds two months before I could plant them outside. Transplant them to the garden and planted some fresh seeds… The seeds are directly planted outside along with the two month old plants now are three times the size 3 months later. Won't be wasting my time starting them early next year

As someone who is gonna try to grow cilantro for the first time next year this was a perfect video! 😃 The growing season here in Sweden is pretty short if you dont have a greenhouse, so I want to save seeds to use for cooking during winter and spring 😊 thank you for yet another helpful video!

Love, love, love cilantro! I stagger plantings year round, indoors & outdoors, so I'm never without it. For saving seeds I hang the heads upside down in a paper bag.

I just collected my Coriander seeds this week. After watching your video, I realize that I may have been too late. But I hope that they will still be viable. I figure that when the plant is self seeding, the seeds must be dry, rather than reddish, in order to get detached from their stems. We'll see next Spring. It my saved seeds don't germinate, I will use the rest of them as coriander in my cooking.
@TheRipeTomatoFarms2 жыл бұрын
Right on JS! It's never really too late in terms of viability... It's just that one day the seeds will drop off the plant and it happens very suddenly. But if they dry and cure on the plant, that's no problem!

Hi 👋...been following your channel for a while and this video is GREAT timing. My Coriander (here in Australia) is doing well and I harvest the leaves daily.....but have wondered about the seeds, so now I know why I DIDNT get ANY seeds last YEAR NO pollination as it was the wrong growing spot and no bees. Thank you so much as now I know what to do .....🙂

Calypso has been my variety of choice to save as well...I had some seed saved from over-wintered plants that lasted until mid August before bolting from an early May planting that are seeding now. We've had a mostly cool wet summer this year here in zone 5b WV. Thanks for all of the great informative videos!
