Just food for thought you can take your 1 x 30 and flip the belts inside out and use them as Strapping belt with your compound give it a shot it’s worked for me great for many years!

Doing yard work in style! It turned out so cool, man. I think anyone would be stoked to own a knife of that design. Great work as always!

I made a leather wheel about 20 years ago. Five pieces of 6 inch diameter leather. Bolt through the center of it. Turn it on the lathe. I used to sharpen chisels with forever.

Very cool, looking forward to next week's episode. Hopefully your planning on using something other than black lol, I know its just purpose built but it is still a custom lol.

Great looking knife. It reminds me to Dagger of Akenash from game Styx - Shards of Darkness.

Isn't it amazing what good steel, proper heat treatment and good bevels are capable of? I made something vaguely similar a few years ago, when I chopped through a 2x4 twice and could still easily shave hair with it, a one of my buddies instantly said, " $&#+(6#\%. @\*& I want one, can you make it this weekend" ! Lolol it's not magic, it's skill, knowledge and the right materials to work. Nice video!!!!

Just out of curiosity have you ever thought about getting a tormak or a knock off like the wen for sharpening? I mean I know you have great skill on sharpening on the belt grinder. I went to the wen cause I couldn't keep it as consistent on the belt grinder. Love the vids brother keep up the good work!

Just my 2cents Once you've got a belt grinder, you can slap some high grit finishing belts on them, run them a bit slower (50% speed or lower) and just make sure to dip to cool after every couple of passes. After that you can polish the edge and deburr on a strop, paper wheel, buffer, leather belt or whatever you fancy. Plus as a knife maker you're putting on those secondary bevels for the first time and having a bit more grit to work with sometimes helps. If I was going to be a professional sharpener who does dozens of knives a day though, I reckon the Tormak system or equivalent would be my go-to just for setting consistent degrees on that secondary bevel. But I'm not and figure I'll spend that money on other stuff around the shop. There's a whole other lot of contraptions out there which also set bevels, use stones, diamond hones and everything else. Mostly comes down to what you want to spend and works for you I reckon
