I posted on your other video. I'll repeat what I said there: I have this sleeping bag, and it's the best sleeping bag I have ever owned. I agree with everything you said in this video.

Capn, enjoyed the review. It's good to know you now have top bag. Your First Sargent if you will. Cheers, Mate.

Great review I’m looking into a more versatile bag

This Stone Glacier and Valandre really stick out in my testing and are lighter weight for backpacking.

If you want budget bag that really performs and you are not big broad shouldered/chested, the Mountain Hardwear Bishop Pass Gore-Tex has a lot to offer. The Gore-Tex Infinium (windproof/water resistant) on that bag I could tell handled the wind awesome. I'm 42/44 chest and I would not go beyond that for that bag though.

Thanks for the review! Do you know how this bag will compare to the Valandre shocking blue?
@CaptainBerz Жыл бұрын
Shocking Blue is a -4 degree bag and I think they would perform similarly. It has not been cold enough for me to test the Shocking Blue, but will as soon as it is cold.

Just got this bag! Was also looking at stone glacier chilok 0 degree bag. It has 850 fill. About the volume of fill But the parasec packs down much much smaller. I noticed the draft tube by the zippers want as puffy as others. Did you have a problem with them?
@CaptainBerz Жыл бұрын
No, never noticed any issues.

I'm between this bag and polar ranger. Have you tested?
@CaptainBerz Жыл бұрын
The Polar Ranger is a completely different type of bag. If you backpack around 5 degrees as a lowest, Parsec 0 will suffice. Below 0 and you want to look at the Polar Ranger. In my opinion.

Thanks for reply. I have a Vesper quilt 32F and that has been comfortable from 20C down to about 0C. I definitely would recommend the vesper for warm sleepers. Its so comfortable. I like the option if I need to push the parsec further I can attach them together. With almost full zip on the Parsec how far to you think you could push it above its rating?? With less down on your back did you notice it on your side? I'm thinking my wife could use it early fall. Thanks so much!

I have a 20° Forte that’s too large imo (I want something smaller, better for colder nights) if you showed us it compressed you would be awesome.

You can find that on google images and the manufacturer website.

Thanks. I watched this and several other videos, several different bags, and wound up ordering this one from Moosejaw. $397.

Now that you’ve tested a few more bags (Nemo & Feathered Friends), would you still put this one at or near the top when you consider warmth and weight? Thanks for doing these tests - by far the best sleeping bag reviews I’ve seen.
@CaptainBerz9 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely. A top performer. Feathered Friends is the dominator out of all of them. Chilkoot, Parsec, Bishop Pass Goretex, Shocking Blue are all in the same ballpark. Nemo is close to those, but performed a little worse, so I would say Nemo Sonic 0 is more a 10 degree bag.
