Pretty cool, handy for finding short circuits in PCB's , floor heating, solar connections etc. I used to own a flir one pro but Imma gonna switch to the thermal master ones...

I like my P2. It was cheaper than the FLIR equivalent but works great for around the house, car, hvac, and work bench.

I just pick up a P2Pro. Amma not interested in buying a super accurate inspection cam with all the bells and whistles. As a homeowner, I only need to examine heat patterns, and a device like this suits my needs perfectly.

I thought the P2 cameras were competitive and used the phone battery for power instead of a permanent battery like FLIR users. The permanent battery is a liability imo because it's not user replaceable and I've read multiple reports of the battery failing and FLIR not honoring warranty replacements which turned me off.

I've been window shopping one of these for a long time but never pulled the trigger yet. Would this help a novice do board repairs for helping to narrow down locations of shorts?

I have used mine to track down shots.

Hi I want a small and affordable thermal camera and the priority is that it can clearly detect snakes at a distance of 3 meters and in the dark at night. What do you think? Does the P2 have this ability? Another question is which images are better quality from the P2 or the P2 Pro?
@12voltvids19 күн бұрын
It detects heat so if said snake is radiating heat it will see it. Since snakes are cold blooded they are typically the same temperature as the environment except when they have just swallowed something warm.

How well would this be able for small animal imaging? It would be nice to have a camera that shows inflammation, for which a resolution of at least a few values per 1°C would be required, and preferably in the range of 20-45°C. Also it would need to be an IR only mode, without using information from the visible-light camera or even AI enhancing.
@12voltvidsАй бұрын
It sees ir heat not visible light.
@Andreas-gh6isАй бұрын
@@12voltvids that's not entirely true... many of these cameras combine image information from an IR sensor with visible light... and potentially AI ... to fake a higher resolution. And for diagnostics that would be worse than a raw low resolution

Can it actually detect studs, pipes behind walls and tiles?
@12voltvids3 ай бұрын
It is athermal camera not radar. If the wires are hot, or the pope is hot water then it would see the temperature difference of the pope radiating heat but that's it.
