As a knife maker I get to play with concepts like this often. Something that might be fun to play with is case hardening with cherry red

Hello, I wanted to ask if there's a page or article where i can see the difference between the standard tool kit and the pro? Thanks for the great content and please do keep making these amazing kits !!!
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a post: facebook.com/102176077994987/posts/509272320618692/?d=n. In short, the difference is the kit package and tool quality.

The screw driver slots in the brushed and polished screws are not blued, why is that so?

Is that wood shavings in the tray? Good video
@AnneNoneymouse2 жыл бұрын
They're using brass filings/shavings.
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is brass filings. Sorry for not mentioning it in this video since it was included in the last flame blue video

That definitely elevates the look of the movement. And actually, it would look really dope with different colored screws, kinda like a rainbow.
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
That's something I can try! I probably will try that on another movement, like the Miyota 9015, where there are more screws to work with.

Sometimes I can be a little color blind, did the rotor screw in the NH35 blue for you or no?

Can you blue my hands of the universal also.

We have a tutorial on bluing hands too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5ashImej91_o5o&lc=UgwZs0Mil-995dFz3Cx4AaABAg

I section on bluing nh series screws needs amending, tried all the screws shown in the video that could be blued and none of them changed color, even after getting the brass shavings super dark, the screws in those movements might be coated now
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. Appreciate it. I'll check with newer nh movements. Have you tried sanding the screwhead and bluing again? That should remove the coating if any is present.

@DIY Watch Club yeah that's how i got them to blue finally, got all the with 2000 grit

You should goldplate the rotor. 😎🏴☠️👑

Try to blued the dial... Should be awesome
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately dials are usually made with non-steel, so they cannot be blued :( Would be an awesome idea if it's possible

How are Chinese watches fake thermal blued? Painted? Anondized. I want to get a seagull 1963 and properly blue the hands
@DIYWatchClub2 жыл бұрын
Give it a go and blue a set of hands yourself! It's fun! But remember it has to be steel hands for it to work
