At 5:21 I compared all of the air coolers I've reviewed, but I only provided test results in 105W ECO Mode because the standard X47 or the X53 Black was not stable at the 170W stock profile with the Ryzen 7900X, I didn't even test the L9a at stock for this reason. However The X47 Full Copper was stable and offered relatively decent performance. I'd say that the 105W eco mode is a better option If you're using and of the AXP-90 lineup.

Thank you for the great feedback, I have heard the call and graphs will be more direct and easily readable in upcoming videos. In order to provide as much data as possible I tried to cram as much on screen as possible. Going forward I'll provide a link to the datasheet for those interested in seeing more data. Thanks again, I'm learning and growing.

Consider making several runs and averaging the results. Some of the results didn't make sense because of outliers (105W scoring lower than 65W and 170W)

Small but maybe important detail : at 2:11 when you attached the AM4 arms, they are on the wrong side. If you look at how the stock Intel arms are mounted at 1:51, the threaded protrusion is on the other side. Not sure if it has any impact on mounting pressure though.

Just know that even though copper is a better thermal conductor, aluminum is a better thermal radiator due to its lower density
@chrisrussellca7 ай бұрын
I’ve heard this, In it returns to idle temps relatively quick. Also as fast as the X47 Black, I’m not sure if the black coating makes it worse than the original aluminum version.

Aluminum also has the highest thermal capacity of any metal, making it perfect for heatsinks

Like most, I was like 'ugh, orange fan' BUT it's got a whole different vibe that matches the copper really nicely when it's spinning. It's a solid and quiet fan, so far, and now if I were to buy a third AXP90-x47 Full Copper and it came with a different color fan, I'd probably go off looking for an orange one. Send me your orange fans, Noctua bois!

I've recently got drawn to ITX builds and your channel is a godsend for the T1 build, more or less the same components i'd want to have in mine. Quick question, are the benchmarks based on 100% fan speed? I'm trying to compare the overall performance difference between the CM Atmos AIO and using air cooler - just based on specs, an AXP-100 full copper might be able to fit?
@chrisrussellca4 ай бұрын
Hi, Thanks for your kind words. I’m pretty sure I noise normalized back when I made this video. I noise normalize now, the results in these tests could be better if you want to run them with a higher fan curve, often the speeds come out to be around 50-60%. If you can afford to liquid cool do it, you’ll have a thermal buffer to run your CPU with higher clocks. The AXP 100 will not fit in the T1 in 3 or 3.25 slot mode.

Great video. Somewhere at minute 5:20 you named the cooler for the gaming test x47copper Noctua, but the color is cyan, like the x47copper with thermalright fan. Is it correct? Which combo did you use for the gaming tests? Which cooler is better: ID cooling IS55 or the thermalright x47copper? I know there is a 8mm difference in height.

At this point in the video the Legend changes to compare other coolers like the X47 black and L9a. I do apologize for the graphs being difficult to read, a criticism I’ve received and plan to fix in the next video.

Hi, thank you and glad I can help. I’d say ordering the Noctua fan ducts are a good investment, however you would have to get the 3D printed pegs made. It’s not necessary but it does help keep the air focused and pulled directly from outside the case.

Am I reading these charts wrong or is it thermal throttling at 105W? Glad it's rated at 145W.
@chrisrussellca7 ай бұрын
It’s probably how I set the charts up, pardon me, still working out the best way to present information. It’s not throttling at 105W. I’ve tested the Stock 170W, Eco 105W and Eco 65W. The 7900X is preforming close to stock performance on ECO 105W. This just proves that ECO 105W is a good option if you want to run lower temps over all, these charts don’t really show that because you’ll see better temps on loads that aren’t maxing out each core.
@TheBlindphleb28 күн бұрын
Do you have a video where you pit the AXP-90 X47 Full copper vs the atmos 240? EIGA showed that his temps were better with the AXP-90 but was running a custom cpu loop with pneumatic tubing. It would be interesting to see if the atmos 240 is just a better cooler than the custom loop.
@chrisrussellca8 күн бұрын
Well not a video but I can tell you that the ATMOS 240 will beat the AXP-90 easily. If you’re running a low power chip like the 7700X, 9600X and maybe 7800X3D if you do some tuning.

@XiaOmegaX7 ай бұрын
I run this with a 7800X3D. paired the noctua A9x14 with it using the low noise adapter and it keeps the cpu at full performance. hard to measure though since it will hit 85C in prime95 rather its under this or an AIO at full tilt. zen 4 just runs hot in terms of die temps.
@chrisrussellca7 ай бұрын
I have seen the ID 47 but I feel like I’ve found an adequate solution. I’ll continue fan tasting down the line. The other commenter could probably assist you better as he has a CPU. However gaming on these coolers seem to be just fine, all of my gaming tests were in 4K, if you’re playing 1440 or 1080, you’ll likely yield better thermal results.

@chrisrussellca7 ай бұрын
@@LogimonYT Optimum Tech made a great video on how you can undervolt your Ryzen 7000 CPU. In a section of this video he shows you how to access the PBO settings in your motherboard (It could vary depending on your specific motherboard). If you want to program eco mode in your bios you’ll need to adjust the PPT, TDC and EDC settings manually. Some boards have presets, however it’s best to input the numbers yourself. For 65W; for example you input PPT 88000, TDC 75000 and EDC 150000. For 105W; PPT 142000 TDC 110000 and EDC 170000. Once you’re done you should save and reboot. You can also edit PBO thermal limits in the same section if you want to limit the temperatures on your CPU, check out the video from Optimum Tech to see how he accessed the settings m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJKyiox-g6yfgtU

Yes, about 1 degree between, the stock cpu profile and 105W eco mode. At 5:21, look at the C23 Scores between the X47 Black and X47 Full Copper. It's still performing better at similar temperatures, it's dispensing heat a lot better.
