I'd prefer it to be bigger and to be able to create my own customised screen, rather than selecting from one of the case manufacturer's. It's the difference between seeing only the CPU temperature or seeing "everything" on one screen. £110 just to see the CPU temp (or any one other measurement) is not worth it.

This is my case but in black. Im building it this weekend. I7 12700k, tomahawk mobo and 4070 ti. Update, this case is a beginners dream case to work with. Very quality, organized and straightforward with tons of room and all necessary bits to work with. But I also want to say after all the videos of building I watched over the years I thought I would be a pro but it's really not as easy as yt videos make them out to be. The motherboard is easiest and funnest part. Setting up an air cooler for cpu is tricky so just get the real directions for whatever your cooler is cuz tou wont figure it out nor do it right winging it, truust me. Lol Arctic Freezer Duo 34 cooler seemed straightforward to me byt it wasnt and I had ro scan a qr code to get real directions which is why I didnt bother at first. Anyways another tricky part is the wiring especially and setting up the wires on mobo. I think I got all my fans setup right now finally but idk for sure. I got the 3 pins in the Jrainbow and the the 4 pins on the case fan 4 pin on mobo. Msi z690 Tomahawk ddr4 board so from what I understand the 3 pin jrainbow headers are for msi sync software to control colors. Im assuming the 4 pin is in case fan headers will allow me to control fan speed? I hope someone reads this and tells me im on right track. I dont wanna mess up my fans and mobo and it's way harder to find the information than I expected. Anyways I got everything dome so far except psu and gpu and plugging the rest of wires in and im worried about this part too cuz wires!!! And where do they go!? Oh and another thing. Half of the screws for my mobo posts too screw to case didnt fit so I used the storage card screws that fit great. Im baffled by it. No different sizes which is what I originally thought. They just wouldnt tighten in and some did. Im worried about yhat too even though its secured good but im thinking im doing something wrong maybe but I dont think so.

@@p0ffjr Another video showed that the CPU at max stress (an I9-13900K, if I recall correctly) veered around 100 C. The GPU (I forget what it was, but it was a 30 series, I believe) was apparently at a steady 60 C at max stress, so at an average load it should cool pretty well.

Nice review, Yes that 420 cooler is a bit much not only in size but necessity, unless you're cranking huge overclocks a standard 240, 280 or 360 at max will keep any cpu cool so long as the bios has been fixed of course. People way over think cooling these days just as they did with thermal compound. Keep up the great vids (A year late lol)

ive got this case using the Asus Rog Crosshair x670e gene , Ryzen 5 7600x ,7900xtx red devil , Arctic freezer ii 420mm .. To start i used 2 of the 3 included front ct 140 fans in the top and the included rear ct 140 .. Yes the arctic freezer ii 420mm is a very tight squeeze because of the thicker rad so using the included p 140 arctic fans it only just fits ( had to leave 2 of the bottom fan screws off ) i also put 2 extra p140 fans as a push pull on the rad for 2 reasons to push some more air into the vertically mounted 7900xtx red devil and to fill the case up without the second fan using the arctic 420 AIO you could easily fit up to a 37cm long GPU and easy 4 to 5 slot gpu without being to close to the TG panel as for thermals its pretty good and apart from the obvious TG panel its basically all mesh with filters .. temps are 60c gpu temp and junction is about 85c on the gpu while gaming but i can drop that with some tuning ( undervolt /fan curve ) and the cpu wont go over 84c in R23 mind you its not surprising with a huge rad and we know the x model cpus love to go straight for 95c as default !! bit on the big side but if you want a 420mm rad case thats almost all mesh this is it !! there are better options if your happy using a 360mm rad i just wanted the 420mm for the upcoming x3d cpus and the ceres 500 is a very good case for that

@@johnc0817 its about 35mm being as the Arctic is basically the thickest AIO rad out there it fits only just most other AIO rads are a max of 27mm .. Now thicker custom loop 420s wont fit unless (which is not a issue once you remove the drive caddy) want to get creative with a dremel and cut the gap out more which would work.. the whole drive caddy can be removed which i did to fit the arctic in there and give me flow though the rad..

@@bobsmithson8592 if you want a 420mm rad case then yes its well built and fits alot in it.. Being as the arctic 420mm has one of if not the thickest rad of any other AIO on the market then yes this is the best mid ish tower case ive found to fit said AIO .. That said for a 360mm rad there is alot better and smaller cases out there and i really prefer sff builds but the old saying necessity is the cause of invention rings true here

@@volvot6rdesignawd702 I thought the Arctic AIOs are 38mm but if you were able to fit it, that's great. Just checked Microcenter and it goes for 170. I got the Phanteks G500A a few weeks ago for the same price. From what I can tell, it's more spacious for custom loops and AIOs than the TT but it's user preference. I fit the Arctic 420 in a push/pull config and a custom 240 loop at the top for my GPU. Thanks again for that info!

ceres 500 has somehwat decent dust filters. lancool just sucks in whats flying around, have fun with high maintenance intervalls. another reason i pick ceres is the front IO placement. when i place the pc on my desk to my right, the IO on the left side of the case is a perfect fit. i also found the be quiet 802 very interesting, but its a bit more expensive, and the IO is in front top.

It's a spacious case, good airflow but it has issues. Build quality issues, design issues. Don't try to mount SSD's on that front plate or when you do and it's time to use the SATA power cable (always with three plugs on it), and the SATA mobo plugs/cables, you will come to find that you can't plug in the SATA PSU power cables because the SSD's are too flush with the surface of the mounting plate and the two attached plugs on the same cable are too close together when it's stacked on top of the other, the two plugs plug in at a slight concerning angle, (I bought a two SSD drive bracket just in case I ran into a problem and that came in real handy but I had to use cable ties to lock it down to the bottom of the case). If I didn't need a 360mm cooler for my particular CPU choice, I would never have purchased this particular case knowing about it what I know now after the build. It took me 20 hours over two days (took a few breaks), two days dealing with this case and it's issues. The first issue was when I opened up the box and the latch for the glass door fell apart, I HAD TO SUPER GLUE it together with Gorilla Glue. The inside cap was rusted and the TINY flat screw that attaches the knob you use to twist it closed and hold the door in that position would not screw into the knob. The super glue worked though and this was the fist hurdle among many others I had to overcome using this case for my last build. There are 4 teeny tiny screws holding on that glass door and I had to take that off a few times, don't lose the screws. It's easy enough to do. Good luck finding replacement screws if you do. Those big glass boxes that are popular, like the Hyte Y60, I can understand why people like that kind of case. I bought the CERES 500 with the RGB fans but I couldn't get the RGB to work, the fans work but not the RGB. My 360mm AIO has three RGB fans and that works and the white translucent fans sort of glow from the light of that and it's good enough for me.

Remove one top fan just for AIO tubes, they should have designed this better..
@brassmule
@brassmule Жыл бұрын
I think the issue here is that the AIO should be installed with tubes down for optimal function (see Gamer's Nexus video on this topic), and if there is no room for that on the bottom then the AIO should be mounted at the top. It's not clear from this video if there is room to install the 420mm AIO on the front with tubes down, meaning it's possible that effectively the largest AIO one can use on this case is a 360 top-mounted AIO. Every other video I can find that uses a 420mm AIO installs it with tubes up, however, so either they're just doing it wrong because they don't know better, or it's not possible to install with tubes down. In the winter, my cats love to sleep on top of my current PC case with a top mounted AIO, and I think if I were to purchase this case I would at most get a 360mm AIO for it and use the top mounted solution.
