Thermic Tablets - Sensorial - Montessori

Learning about the thermic tablets, which explores the temperature of different materials. This is part of our Sensorial Curriculum.
PRESENTATION
• Sit your child to the left and place the box in the upper middle of the table.
• Place one of each tablet to your left.
• Show your child the part of the wrist that you will feel the temperature with, which is just above your hand. Bring down the first tablet and allow your child to feel the tablet, let their wrist press against it while it is on the table.
• Take out the other tablets for the box and place them randomly in the same row as the first set of tablets.
• With the first tablet you chose feel all the other tablets with your wrist to find which one is the same.
• Ask your child to close their eyes so they can feel which one is the same. Once they have found the matching tablet bring it down in front of them and feel them both, place the matched tablets to the upper left corner of the table.
• Keep matching all the tablets until finished.
• This activity helps to refine their thermic sense.
