Good video! Would like to point out that at 7:50 the formula should be: R1 = R2 exp.^beta ((1/T1) - (1/T2)) It was done correctly with the example question later in the video though. Just saying for those watching that they should watch through the whole video and not stop at 7:50. Good job!

Thanks a lot for making this video, this gave me a fundamental understanding to develop further, this is helping me in my internship, where i'm currently working on a ntc thermistor to record the temprature of a battery while it heats during charging or discharging. 😁

Requesting a PTC calculation video

That beta equation is just for NTC or also for PTC termistors? When i calculate with it on a PTC, my beta equals a negative valor.

Calculation: Supposing (1/T1 - 1/T2) as X R2= R1e^(BX) R2/R1 = e^BX ln(R2/R1) = lne^BX lne=1, shifting the power of e to the base ln(R2/R1) = (1) BX (ln(R2/R1) )/ X = B replacing the value of X B= (ln(R2/R1)) / (1/T1-1/T2)

I find using a power equation of the type Tk = aR^b works very well over a wide temperature range, certainly good enough to 0.1C. Each thermistor has to be calibrated separately with its own a and b coefficients.

Ive got equipment with 64 NTC thermistors imbedded inside. I need to monitor each one on a regular basis, and set a high alarm. I have a stc1000 temp controller and was wondering if something Arduino based could switch between them all over say a two or three minute period, giving me constant monitoring✅
@bp88644 жыл бұрын
Have you tried to use remote temperature sensors instead? Like the TMP468
@rogercrier4 жыл бұрын
@@bp8864 I need to use the ones already embedded in the battery modules☹️
@rolandroka20823 жыл бұрын
@Roger Crier Ive got the same plan like you. I try to read out the temperature values out of 845 thermistors separately. In the future I want to build out a powerwall with 3380 lithium cells, of course with full temperature monitoring based on arduino nano. In your case, the job can do the set of 74HC595 chips (eight in series of them) and one arduino probably. If you know, how for example the 8x8x8 led cube works with the same setup, this is easy to do. You can switch between the sensors one by one, read out the data, then switch on the next one....

Hi, I've got a NTC 5D-11 on a power supply board, it was cracked so I bought 2pcs just to have a spare. I tested the new parts and I am getting continuity, is it supposed to have continuity? both parts have it. Thanks!

I have an window A/C unit that I need to get the room to 60 degrees but the unit will only allow me to set it to 64. I am trying to control the temp by using and Inkbird temperature controller that turns the A/C unit off and on via the outlet based on the inkbird's sensor. In and effort to get this to work, I have tried relocation the A/C unit's thermistor and insolate it but the results are inconsistent. Can you tell me if I can provide a set temperature reading on the sensor circuit be removing the thermistor and replacing it with a 9K ohm resistor so that it reads a constant 30C?
@kolinevans91275 жыл бұрын
Hmm well I had that wrong I was certain I’d seen NTCs used as inrush resistors etc unless they just used the wrong part lol ? Anyhow good to actually learn what the N And P stand for.

Great video: however, when solving the log equation, I’m getting beta as [ln(R2/R1)]\[(1/T1)-(1/T2)]. What you have is correct however if R1 = R2 * e^(beta((1/T1)-(1/T2))).
