why can't i see transient or steady state response in my abaqus ? is that cause of student edition ?
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
Should not be, the student edition is as good as any other edition. It is just that it is only for learning and with that edition, you cannot do legal commercial work and earn money.

I want to calculate the thermal mode of a composite material. How do I calculate the buckling temperature of a material?

It is an interesting question but I cannot answer it here in comments section. If you would like to discuss it in more detail we can have a shot chat on some other platform. Check faisal.qayyum.com/contact for getting in touch

Hi...i would like to study the mechanical property deterioration with respect to temperature.... Is it possible without VUMAT/UMAT or is it necessary to have a VUMAT/UMAT?
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by deterioration? If you mean material softening due to increase in temperature then you do not need VUMAT/UMAT

Thank you for this amazing tutorial, I would like to ask you about the possibility to share with us The simulation of SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS, it's a kind of smart material that could remember its original shape after deforming it when we exposit to a stimulus like HEAT??

Sir, why do we choose solid homogeneous in shell 2D?
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
Because we assume that the material is solid and homogenous.

How can I get the plastic strain at different temperatures?
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
You can use field output data for a specific node to get plastic strain at that node for the whole simulation. Or you can use Path output function to get data at a specific frame on a series of nodes.

Hi Faisal, i recontact you again to ask you something about induction heating. Is-it possible to do a numerical simulation of induction heating in abaqus ??? if yes, can you please help me by giving me a simple example ???
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Pierre, I remember that you asked this question earlier. I'm not sure what do you mean by the "numerical simulation of induction heating". If you are heating a sample by using induction in a physical experiment and you want to replicate those boundary conditions in the numerical simulation, you do not have to actually model an induction coil. Just calculate the heat flux produced by the induction system using some simple formula and apply it to the sample surface directly in the numerical simulation model, as I showed in this video. I hope it answers your question.

Hi Faysal, can you please do a tutorial on a thermomechanical simulation in compression (respectively in tensile test)taking into account an electric heater at the end of the specimen ? thanks for your answer.
@FaisalQayyum3 жыл бұрын
Heyy Peirre, I believe that's not complicated. In these simulations the hearing source is not really defined, rather, heating is stated as a surface heat flux. You can calculate total heat flux from the electric heat source and apply it in the simulation model and I believe it should work fine. Did that answer your question ?? If no, try emailing me your detailed problem for further discussion.

@@FaisalQayyum Hi Faisal, Thank you already for responding to my question. In fact, I want to do an experiment on Gleeble using it as comparison results. For this, I have to do a 3D dynamic compression/traction test to simulate the electrothermomechanical effect. that’s kind of my problem. Maybe you can direct me . Thank you
