I wish you would have done the “finger pointing” close-up clip on the heat exchanger/Giotto. It wasn’t clear to me where the steam heater was versus the brewing chamber.

What would you recommend for a dual boiler that is an E61 style group? The only benefit for me would be adding flow control down the line

The Rocket Espresso R58 Cinquantotto is one of our dream machines. It's expensive but probably the last machine you'll need to buy. If you are looking for something with pressure profiling you'll probably need to look outside of the E61 style group head for best results. www.seattlecoffeegear.com/products/rocket-espresso-r58-cinquantotto-espresso-machine

Does a boiler have to be descaled, like a thermoblock ? I have heard that boliers like those used in sage oracle doesn't need to be descaled. Is it true ?

Don't know where you heard that, but it's definitely wrong. Boilers need to be descaled, and the process is generally a lot more work than with a thermoblock.

This is a tricky question with a complex answer. One, we don't recommend descaling your machine unless your machine has a descale prompt (like Breville for example). Two, it's really important to consider water quality to help prevent needing to get your machine descaled. Three, if your machine does not have a descale prompt, we recommend having the machine descaled professionally as the acids used can be just as corrosive as scale and it's best that a professional handle it to protect your machine. The E61 is a horrible experience, too many parts, hard to heat up. A heat exchanger makes horrible espresso. No way to set temp for espresso. It's all a guess, flush and when? back to back espresso take forever to heat up and reheat for the next shot.. My Lucca A53 (La Spaziale Mini Vivaldi) makes fast, accurate (dual boiler) temperature espresso and super fast back to back Lattes! All with programmed 1 & 2 shot drinks. Nothing compares to this for the money! No experience with Thermoblock, but there is something for everybody!

I'll bet you didn't really mean 2100 amps.

You're right! We meant watts😆

The cost of providing 2100 AMPS of current (@4:11) seems a bit excessive…let’s see 10 200amp household panels… naw needs more…
