This Xerxes, or Sexrex. Imagine if in real life he would have existed, but not as a King of an empire, but of 'his own.' When he was a kid, he got punched in his throat, and ever since he has such badass voice. (Lol just a fantasy.) He is super-ultra-mega rich and wealthy. Has many wives and friends. Sometimes with his best friends hangs out with prostitutes. Has a few kids. He has a huge house. Always; makes huge parties with huge tables with lots of food, and organizes feasts , and always invites everyone. He has very strong connections to the Hollywood, and local authorities. He has multiple real estates around the world. Also he has a bunker underneath his home, and a bit of weapons. He has a huge collection of stylish clothes and cars. His favourite thing is sex, money, and food. He cooks all the best food, and has sex 3 time a day. His little children already know all the swearing words, and he is super happy about it. Sometimes he would scream, swear, and take a pistol , and shoot, and yell words like : "I want to sink in this gold and chocolate forever!!! I will never be sick of my luxurious life!!!! " He is the biggest dog the world has ever seen- he pays women to do all kinds of plastic surgeries to make their bodies nearly perfect. Super cool SEXREX!

Seeing this in an IMax theater was so much better. Each footstep from Xerxes pounded with deep bass as he walked and deep low reverberation when he spoke. The sound reverberated through the entire theater. It really added to the experience of watching this movie. That sound wasn't replicated in the home versions.
@spdewertton
@spdewertton Жыл бұрын
Do they mix the sound differently for iMax releases? If not, all you need to replicate that effect is a good hometeather. And you may need to boost the bass up a bit. Then again, I have a decent setup here and his steps on this clip don't sound like they'd create that effect. So maybe the iMAX version was different, or the bass got crushed by KZbin compression.

I like how Xerxes gradually breaks down as the conversation progresses, while Leonidas keeps his cool and shows that he isn’t fazed by Xerxes’ threats, AT ALL. This contrast is shown again in the end, where Leonidas keeps his cool while aiming his spear at Xerxes’ face, and facing his death with dignity, while Xerxes’ breaks down even more and is left speechless by Leonidas’ spear cutting his face.

Jesus Saves Well, 1st you have the archers or bodyguards for Xerxes watching with their bows from above. One sleight hostile move from Leonidas would probably be fatal and without success regarding killing Xerxes before he is dead himself. 2nd, the meeting with Xerxes was Xerxes' wish to discuss the matter you hear in the video. Leonidas is a king himself and grants this so they can talk from one king to another. Kings in that era just don't do the slick-wayed kills to another king. Honor and dignity stops them. Especially if you consider the past between these two that just wouldn't make sense.

"I will erase even the memory of Sparta from the histories...The world will never even know you existed" "The world will know that free men stood against a tyrant...that even a God King can bleed" If the Spartans were willing to make that sacrifice in the last stand of the 300, then they must've looked to Leonidas with just as much glory as this movie gives to his name.

I can't help but smile at Leonidas's "You clearly don't know our women" line. Spartan women enjoyed a great deal more rights than the average Greek lady, including the right to own land and inherit it from fathers, mothers, husbands or siblings. They were traditionally married at 18 (Very old by other nation standards at the time) and had the right to divorce. Spartan women even carried small knives with them at all times, just in case a man got a little too frisky with her against her will. It was considered a mark of shame to carry a thin scar on your face, with the knowledge that it was put there by a woman defending herself. They could also compete in sporting events and were known to wear VERY short skirts, but that's neither here nor there.

@@CypherDND LOL. The real threat to this country comes from the right wing. If you care to look, check the FBI's website and you'll see that right-wing terrorism is responsible for most of the terror deaths in this country. Also, the right wing likes to persuade you that they're doing anything beneficial for you, when in reality they're just helping big corporations and billionaires get richer, while harming the environment in the process. That is why they adopt issues like gun rights, religion, abortion, and military, because they know they wouldn't win on their economic plans alone. You are a sheep if you think they give a damn about you.

@Elvynd How is right wing a threat? Right wing is all about conservation. The left is about novelty, liberation. You need both to function and too much of the other causes destruction. but to say right wing alone is the threat is like saying ‘old traditions and conservatism of nationality must die’ Right wing is literally the foundation of a countries preservation. Their identity. To say that’s the threat of a country is oxymoronic

Many do not realize that in this depiction, Xerxes really is a god. He's also a giant, although the depiction of him as a giant is, forgive the pun, a little stunted. If here were 9 feet tall instead of 7, it would have made a bigger impact, but that would have required the use of CGI. It's also a subliminal of David vs Goliath. And the movie is of course, a fairy tale and not an actual historical portrayal of Sparta or any of the characters from actual history.

Honestly, Xerxes made him a really good offer. He offered to rise him up above all Greeks and for him to lead his armies into European conquest. The great thing about Leonidas, is that he knew this, and still decided to basically spit on him. It's no wonder the Greeks are proud of this man.
@bugsbunny5507

The offer sucked. Leonidas would have had to sell his soul and his people. He would have to become a sell-out. Shitty offer. People who think they can buy and sell everyone, need to go fuck themselves, just like the Persians eventually got fucked up the ass by Alexander the Great.
