You don't need to drain the radiator. You'll lose about a 1/2 cup of coolant. Place rags around to catch the overflow.

Did water get in the bolt holes like it had for me? If so wouldn't tightening the bolts with the water possibly create hydrolic pressure and break something?

When we adding the coolant at the end, do I add it to the reservoir or to the radiator itself???

Those Studs break off easy. I'd recommend putting a little grease on the studs when replacing. One of mine broke, my uncle's & my Cousins all broke a stud on the 4.3 thermostat housing

It's not...the little amount of coolant at the housing, is not gonna be enough to warrant that petcock work!! Have a paper towel ready to absorb the bit that may leak out....No big deal.

What size socket is needed? Need to give that info. Also, I have a 2002, and you do not need to remove the air intake and drain the antifreeze. There is no need for that.

why dont you use the torque wrench like the pro's do....................................................
@2carpros
@2carpros 8 жыл бұрын
+kennybopaloo Bop When you have been working on cars for a long time using a torque wrench is not needed for something like this. If you are not confident in what tightness it should be google search the torque spec's.
@KingBigg55
@KingBigg55 2 жыл бұрын
Lol have you ever been in a shop? Other than suspension and deep motor work they very rarely break out the torque wrench. Most bolts are just fine at tightening with a wrench until its snug
