Daisy chain is also a nice way to store unused rest of rope during work. In some cases better than keeping in bag, especially if there was a chance for someone to move your rope bag. You always get last bight from chain, unlike sometimes from bag where a rope can "mix".

I'm a recriational ( TCI trained ) arborist from South Africa, Cape Town relocated to USA => Love this Video!! Made may concern, How to deal with can we leave wet rain soaked ropes in a downpour we have up kere in the Caterskill (Poconos NY), is this dilema can we leave ropes up in the rain frequenlty for short periods ? It's a pain to remove a climbing system ( DRT/SRT) and send up throwline for just the next day or two of re-ascending, I'd rather leave ropes up for a few weeks, getting a some good climbing time in. So nice to know how I can leave one up, come rain or storm, and then in cold icy weather dry those puppies in daisy scrimmage patterns in my basement, near the wood burning stove. In summber drip dry in the canopy seems OK I used to drape my ropes all over my gym using up all the exercise machiens, even my caddilac and gyrotonic tower - precious wooden equipement you really want to keep away from water. Not to mention the spider web making my roomates mad Thank You!! Baie Dankie

We have left up ropes for months on end. This was on a jack up vessel. 8x150 per leg, 4 legs total. So that is quite a lot of rope and quite a normal thing to do. Water is not necessarily bad for you rope under normal uses. Yes, it stretches a bit less, may be a bit weaker, and in the long run, mechanical damage will happen before any of those other things become an issue.. I wouldnt worry about it to much
