I’ve driven down 6 1/2 hours from Northern California to purchase roses from Otto & Sons twice and recommend them wholeheartedly. I made my second purchase just last month. Their selection is amazing and the roses are in top condition. Every contact I’ve had with their staff has been exceptionally good, with the staff going out of their way to be helpful. Both purchases were absolutely worth the drive!

I live in Michigan, but when I visited and delivered one of our puppies to my good friend George in southern California, we went to Otto and Sons, only about 40 minutes from his home! Oh my goodness, I've never seen such a collection and display of roses in my life!!! Absolutely stunning!! If I had driven instead of flown I would've spent a lot of money there! Especially, since it was November and they had many varieties marked down! Otto's is amazing!!

I've driven 4 hours up and another 4 hours back to purchase from Otto & Sons! It's a road trip worth the effort. The prices are always reduced 30% during 'Rose Days' and 40% in October. They also have a small area of ones that have lost tags or are just reduced at amazing prices!!!

@@kendean593 The huge blooms are gorgeous. I also love the variety of roses they offer. Most of our local nurseries only have maybe 10-15 varieties on a good year. Some years they only have knockouts. I still visit the UK tour videos often. I am so happy that you guys got to go, and thankful that you made the videos to share with the rest of us!

I have to say this is one of the most generous family owned nurseries I have ever been to. They used to do garden classes/ extenuing education for master garden program. I'm not sure now after covid. I think they stopped. They would serve delicious home baked goodies and gave us a wealth of knowledge. Ask them any questions and will help you. I would drive down at least once a year from the high desert ca, over 2 hrs drive just to go there. Highly reccomend them. 😊

Never knew rose blooms got that big, especially in the SW desert. Feds should check what Otto is feeding those monsters!

But all the major rose growers who supply nurseries in the U.S. are in desert/arid regions: Tyler, TX, Eloy, AZ, and the Central Valley of California! Of course, they only get that big in the first bloom of the year when temperatures are cooler...

What a magnificent display of roses. It would be a torment for me to choose what to take. I have many David Austin's, Tantau, Kordes or Meilland but American roses like Rio Samba, Henry Fonda, Distant Drums... for instance, are more difficult to get in Europe. Loved the tour, thanks so much! 🌹

Yup...with the coming El Nino drought , only As Good as Gold, Fragrant Plum Firefighter & JFK are hardy enough under the heatwave. European roses are stressed now due to the heatwave over there.

I’m from Puerto Rico and when I was small my mom had a rose bush called Rosa de 100 Oma’s (one hundred rose petals) smell beautiful and is used for tea. Is very light pink. I have been looking for it.

I looked online and also helpmefind.com for the rose you mentioned. I am not seeing anything. I wish I could find this exact rose. What I can offer is that the most fragrant roses are typically Damask roses. If we had more land and it was closer to MD, Kimberley probably would. I’ll have to ask Kimberley if she expected this, but I didn’t expect anything like this in an area I thought was as dry as a desert. This was my favorite garden of the tour. Disappointed they wouldn’t ship a stone crab planter to us. They don’t ship roses, gifts, no-thing.😡

This is a big and beautiful nursery 😍 I can’t believe its only an hour away from where I live, I definitely need to visit! I feed my roses rose tone fertilizer this year and my Double Delight and Bronze star rose had HUGE blooms! The are the size of the Neptune rose in this video. Did you take any roses home? I think they get those huge blooms by giving them almost enough fertilizer to burn them.
