That talk about Gems breaking away and resisting the changes made by Era-3 and Pink Diamond can be taken a step further by having those Homeworld Gems that are heavily against this change altogether come to an alarming conclusion that could send shockwaves throughout Homeworld as a whole: that "Pink Diamond" is an organic imposter posing as Pink Diamond that stole several of Pink Diamonds shards from Earth and managed to delude a conclave of lesser Gems and decieve the other Diamonds, that his plan overall is nothing short of the destabilization and total collapse of their Empire. A story that managed to tackle this issue was called _Diamond Authority_ an AU set after the events of Garnets' wedding where at least Blue reached the conclusion that Steven and Pink Diamond aren't the same person altogether and that Steven finds himself in the middle of what Greg essentially sums up as a "custody battle" between the Diamond Authority and the Crystal Gems while they wait to go get a chance to talk with White Diamond. Only for an issue to pop up that requires Blue to leave Homeworld to go help out Yellow and White and has Steven stay for a week to maintain order as a Diamond... and then ALL three Diamonds go missing, leaving Steven alone to basically run the entirety of the Intergalactic Empire while trying to maintain his guise as Pink Diamond to keep the Homeworld Gems from flipping out while also trying to find out what happened to the other Diamonds and bring them back.

From the second I saw White get tinted pink by Steven, I thought it'd be really cool to see White Diamond eventually become Rainbow Diamond. White may be the perfect color which is made up of other colors, but that's only in additive color (rgb). In subtractive color (how we see light, which gem bodies are made of) White is a blank canvas ready to be painted. With White Diamond being willing to change and accepting other gem's ideas, it'd be great to see her eventual form consist of every gem's colors as she now accepts everyone's ideas rather than only her own.

I would be deeply disappointed if Steven's ideal "Era Three" made thing better without a hitch. Historically, it is highly unusual for a hidebound civilization to change their views and lifestyles overnight with it getting messy. I mean, look at the aftermath of any major civil conflict in history: Revolutions, civil-wars, suffrage movements, etc. Much like Peridot's reaction to Garnet's "perma-fusion" state, much of gem-kind are going to have a hard time acclimating to the "new normal". As gems are so accustomed to being controlled, they are not going to know how to handle the greater freedoms. Also, with their life-long directives changer or outdated, a lot of gems are going to be angry, confused and resentful. As such, malcontent gems will seek out violent groups and cults of personality in order to find purpose in... well... something. The efforts of White Diamond may not even be enough, as malcontent gems might deify her old-self and crusade to "uncorrupt" her from Steven's influence.

And the violent groups might engage in acts of terrorism against the Diamond Authority, their courts, the CGs, humans, etc. This could be very interesting, as Steven and Co will have to sort out the fallout that led to some gems forming these groups and that neither he, the Diamonds, nor the CGs can force these disillusioned gems to adopt the new rules.

One thing I want to see are the Diamonds spending more time on Earth, learning what works and what doesn't because there's no better place of perfectly imperfection than Earth. It also gives them a chance to get to know Steven better as they really don't know their grandson/nephew all that well. And for White, learning from Greg about parenting could do her some good. Being a single parent isn't easy; learning from Greg could help White be a better mother to both Yellow and Blue so that we don't have a repeat of what happened to Pink (no one wants that).

It’s just pretty much confirmed by Rebecca that Homeworld is changing LOTS, since Steven changed White’s mind, and Lemon Jade is safe, she confirmed that, maybe not mentally yet, but in general she is safe. Probably bubbled and will be let free. She said it in some podcast I think, or an interview, but it surely confirms fusion is approved on HW now. Let’s say the Off-Colors may be approved as well, as the Diamonds tried to communicate with them in Change your Mind.

Not to disappoint anyone, but don't really expect Homeworld and The Diamonds (except Pink) after Season 6. It's supposed to start as a new story, and the Diamond VA's were pretty expensive, and their contracts lasted shorter, and their story is pretty much over. It's just a fact. ..... We'll see what happens.

Sorry if this is overanalyzing a kids' show, but I like doing this, please bear with me (and no, I am not an expert at politics or governance, I just like them too much as a layman). If the Diamonds ever tried these radical reforms, there would be an instant revolt amongst the aristocratic/comfortable/fanatic gems. You cannot change the mindset that has been ingrained into the Gem race for thousands of years so easily. I mean, think about it: if the Japanese Emperors in the pre-Cold War Era turned into communists, the army would instantly coup, even if they revere them as gods. Those reforms are far too radical for the jingoist Gem Empire. If the Diamonds wish to ever have a shot at avoiding rebellion, they would need to slowly and subtly change the culture over the decades, or even centuries. The Gem Empire just cannot restore the colonies. Those planets are hollow shells, far too terraformed for Gemkind to be restored. If we observe the plans for Earth, the colonies would be just empty husks, forever ruined for organic life. The Diamond Authority would be forcing Gemkind to commit species suicide if they go goody-too-shoes. They may be successful at first, but given how a "no more colonies" policy would affect their numbers and resources, the Gem Empire can only fade away, crushed by its excessive generosity. Over time, if they use the military to intervene all the time, their soldiers and equipment shall wittle away over the centuries if they cannot replace them. They need colonies and excessive amounts of minerals from organic planets in order to sustain and increase the numbers and power of their race. The safest bet for Gemkind if it wants to go all nice would be extreme isolationism. If the Diamonds are intelligent, they know that the only way to maintain their Empire's power whilst committing to this benevolent interventionist lifestyle is to, ironically, keep colonizing, which would be horrific if they are true adherents to reformism. It could be likely that they will just restrict themselves to the space that they already have. There is another path, and that may be to create defensive alliances to safeguard their realm, maybe even trade resources for tech in order to create a handful of gems to replenish the more manageable losses in manpower that Homeworld may stumble upon over the centuries if it does not go Freedom Crusader. But embarking on a multigalaxy-scale conservation effort would be prohibitedly expensive, and the defense of worlds and species that are under attack would be costly to the Gem armies. They just cannot afford to go that route, it is insane. No sane leader would open their coffers and hand out all their wealth if they do not have a way to replace it. They would need to be truly suicidal for the Gem Empire. If Homeworld goes down that path, either the Diamonds or the aristocracy will notice that they are slowly swallowing arsenic. The latter would imply another rebellion, and this time they could arouse more popular support by convincing the poor/less conscious strata to join them in overthrowing a wasteful and careless regime that holds more value for other races and spending resources abroad rather than caring for their own lives and people. What could result is a new regime, refusing to go the route of the Dodo like the Diamonds wished. The Crystal Gems might as well be a friendly but microscopic militia/group of friends at this point. It is hard to categorize them as a country in the same way that Homeworld is, but if they insist in continuing to be an official and alternative organization for Gemkind, the Crystal Gems could be similar to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a sovereign entity that has no actual territory. Of course, they may not think of themselves as such, but, for the purposes of legality, they could be a sovereign organization, owing no allegiance to Homeworld and commanding their own affairs without interference from any other sovereign entity, albeit they claim no territory whatsoever (maybe the Temple, but, Idk). TLDR: Homeworld is f*cked if it chooses extreme altruism.

The issue with Gems using Earth as essentially a tourist destination are, well, the issues that come with being a tourist destination (not knowing how to interact with permanent residents, a possible sense of entitlement, pollution, harming the local wildlife out of ignorance, etc.) I’m sure Beach City already knows a thing or two about that though!

I think the idea of gems like Emerald or Aquamarine rebelling against the Diamond Authority honestly does sound pretty cool... yet also kind of sad because it shows how different everything would be after the events of CYM. It means that THEY would be the rebels and the Crystal Gems/Diamonds would be the the people against them.

It would be nice that the the Homeworld Empire is one to spread their influence by a line with many different planets with intelligent races similar to Earth and having both the world leaders and Earth and the Diamonds work together to develop new technology that would change Earth forever. I also would love to see how yellow diamond would Combat Rogue factions of the Homeworld Empire that may involve Aquamarine, Emerald, and and others that don't want to change their ways, starting a new civil war with the gems through a rebellious group that wants to keep things the way they are instead of a rebel group that wanted to change everything like the Crystal Gems: the Reverse Imperialist!

How would the Diamond Authority issuing commands on how Gems should behave themselves on distant worlds be any more moral when they're done for what Steven sees as enlightened reasons, compared to doing so when they're intended to enforce the Order of the Diamonds? We don't even know whether most or even a majority of Homeworld Gems would like to see heterofusion permitted. If an overwhelming majority of Gems on other worlds would rather live their lives according to traditional ways, does the Diamond Authority have any more right to overrule them than they did when the Gems on Earth rebelled against that system?

Now that cross gem fusions are acceptable on Homeworld, I really, really want to see Diamond fusions. In particular, Steven fusing with Blue or White, Yellow and Blue fusing (since I think it would really help them to understand why cross fusion is such a wonderful, special thing), White, Blue, and Yellow (to signify that their relationship has been healing significantly from the mind control and literal thousands of years of emotional abuse), and, though it’s a long shot, a fusion comprised of all of the Diamonds (maybe they’re facing the biggest threat yet on the show and are forced to fuse to save everyone.) Speaking of fusion in general, I’d also really like to see Jasper fusing, not for power or advantage in battle, but for genuine respect, love and affection for the other gem (maybe with Steven, given he is her Diamond’s son and went to great lengths to help her or maybe with Amethyst, given their history), Lars and Steven (because their bond has strengthened so, so much and I’d love to see it given a physical interpretation), whether Stevonnie can fuse with other gems (maybe with Garnet since Stevonnie is close to Garnet, or Pearl, given Connie is her student and Steven is like her son), and finally, a fusion between Greg and Steven. I think it would be a really powerful moment to see Greg finally fuse in the traditional gem way, since he could never achieve that with Pink Diamond (not in the way he intended initially I mean.) I love his and Steven’s relationship on the show; they love each other so much and Greg is so understanding and supportive of Steven, so to see that love given physical form would be so amazing!

Looking forward to season 6. Wish the release date would come out. As for homeworld, I do think it would change but I hope the name of the villains come out soon (Homeworld gems going against the change is 50/50). It's going to be interesting in how White and Yellow are going to change their ways in making everything better.
