They are allowing their children a childhood while pointing out the responsibilities they hold in their positions. They are a credit to their parents and I feel Catherine’s parents are in the background helping out when needed but with the same values to keep the continuity. Good point that the Middletons deserve a lot of credit as well! If it weren't for them and the Queen, the RF would have devolved on to a parody of itself by now. We know Charles and Diana were too hung up on their own drama to raise their boys well, so Kate's solid upbringing is what is reaping the fruit in these admirable children.

Their children are so well mannered and behaved. Allow them to be children and expressing their own personalities using positive emotions and touch when they are doing well is a great parenting style. It’s much better than having to repeat yourself over and over and having a whipping or threatened only for being bad.

I don't think it's a 'new strategy'! The Prince and Princess of Wales appear to have been wonderful parents from day 1, they are a lovely family and each child has been introduced to more public appearances at the appropriate time. They are a great role model for family living!

Sorry, but that just is not true. When William was asked who keeps the children in line he claimed it was his wife. He said she was the strong one, and that he usually deffered to her . I have dealt with kids on a daily basis who have been raised with an easy hand, and for the most part they are a nightmare. So I doubt Katherine is as hands off as you think. I do not believe in corporal punishment, but I'm sure their parents have found good ways to keep them in line. For example, just a stern look from a parent can change a child's attitude.

The Wales truly enjoy their children and vice versa. They do not “yell” at their children , yet keep a firm hand on them. When they have to discipline them or correct their behavior, they probably use the “nose to nose” and “lowered voice” technique to speak to them. Quality time together in a warm, welcoming, and quiet environment works wonders for children. Children also respond well to a sensible schedule.

They are very hands on with their children and both care and take part in their children's lives. They are teaching them great values. They also have earned respect from their children. If a child doesn't respect you as a parent or person in general I think you will have problems. I think when you encourage the best in a child and show them that you truly care about them without being overbearing but still being the parent you will get the best results. Parents are here to teach children how to grow up into good and productive human beings. Its sad that a lot of children are not brought up this way and they are not shown love, caring or encouragement.
