That is exactly the reason why. In the original article, the “Dr” even refer to himself as a fellow scholar as one point. By the 3rd, he responded to be called that, “the researcher” and the “long ear one” swap their identities. Not the bodies or souls, their identities. “The scp employee” not take the other’s place and stay in the forest, while the “forest dweller” now take his place as the researcher at the Foundation. In one the last line in the article, the note comment the fur (emphasis) that “the scientist” shed don’t show any genetic abnormalities
