Good video. Maybe add suggested reps and sets to start with to the video description. I know how easy it is to over do jump lunges.

Just what I was looking for to augment my ability to tackle the vert on a couple trail races this fall. Thanks :) And as for the rows, if you can tie a couple bowlines I guess a length of 1" or thicker rope would do just as well.

@@edgaracosta773 What Phil means is that strength training should be incorporated at the very start, during 10K base phase. 3-4 months before race day

Hey coach Morgan, if you really want to get the most out of your step ups, at the top of the movement, drive your back leg up to work the hip flexor and on the "touch and go" movement, try keeping your back foot flexed and touching the heel to the ground before going back up. Greater depth and stretch on the working leg.

Those are good exercise and good workout, but my question is are you doing this on a easy day or on a hard day? Also should we do after / before a run workout? How many days per week as well?

you'll want it around the height you can lift your foot up to, just to start, then work your way up to make it harder

The exercise as demonstrated is quite hard. A ‘beginner version’ would be helpful. Also make sure the chair (or other surface) really is stable

Why not step up from one side and then down the other side? Asking is easier than trying.

Lean into it, braking while running downhill usually hurts the lower back and hamstrings.

It is no wonder runners spend so much time injured. There is absolutely no substitute for actually running up the hills, and guess what... back down.
