Amazingly useful video! My rotation of Superblast 2, Glycerin Max and Mach X2 I feel is hard to top. Mach X2 definitely a top all rounder 👌🏻
@peterledrew25567 күн бұрын
One shoe for everything, if the heel and fit works for you is the Mach X2. I prefer that over even the Cielo x1 for all paces. Just works and feels amazing for me also as a bigger runner.
@PatrickStar_247 күн бұрын
Why would you want to run in a carbon plate for everything?
@peterledrew25567 күн бұрын
@@PatrickStar_24no carbon plate. Uses pebax plate that's not that stiff or rigid. They mention the all rounders at the end and mention carbon plated shoes in fact but Mach X2 doesn't have carbon either. Why? Because it's an amazing and fun shoe at all paces that's why.
@PatrickStar_247 күн бұрын
@@peterledrew2556 Mach X2 pebax or carbon is still plated and designed for tempo. You going to want something for recovery so I don't think it would fit as an all arounder. Depends on the mileage and type of training you are doing. If you just running at the same pace every run and not hitting high mileage you can get away with it I guess.

For marathon training I have endorphin pro 3’s as race day shoes, speed 4 for quick work outs and a mix of Puma velocity nitro 3 (grip!) and Nova blast 5 for long runs. My long runs are never all easy so I like a shoe that I can pick up the pace in.
@travelexx7 күн бұрын
Endorphin Speed is something I use for everything. I do feel that the 4 has lost something which made 3 so good for all my easy runs and is better at faster paces. I've never enjoyed other shoes as much at slower paces. I don't try that many shoes though so just go for what I know and am comfortable with

Deviate Elite 3 is a great, fast, and comfortable shoe, even at slower paces. But for all my training, I'm using the non-elite version of the Deviate - it offers more protection and stability. I often run on roads to light trails, so Puma's outsoles are exactly what I need
@njs_gc7 күн бұрын
Novablast 5 didn't get a mention. if you're less than 80kg and only wanted one shoe that would be a good one. I like the Mach 6 but I don' know if you could run a marathon in it because of the narrow fit.
@snowwalker99997 күн бұрын
I think Nick is a fast runner. Even a Saucony Speed 4 for him can be an easy recovery running shoe. He's lucky he does not need too many shoes in his rotation. Just a versatile rather quick daily trainer and a race shoe.

I’d love multiple shoes for different runs but it’s expensive. Last year I run my first marathon in Brooks Glycerin 21 Gts. This shoe also saw me run a sub 20 5k, 10k pb and a half pb. This year, marathon number 2 and I’ve gone with the hurricane 24 as my do it all shoe. However, this year I do plan on buying a different shoe after my marathon for 5-10k’s.

For me, it makes more sense to do training miles, especially long runs in the shoe that keeps you feeling less beat up. Also, to run the most miles in the shoe that you love most regardless of price since 99% of the running we do is not in a race. (We race to justify our daily running not other way around). Which means CIELO X1! So it’s roughly $75 more than the $200 SB2 and ZF6, but 10x better. Ok I’m done 🙂

I recently bought the Saucony Pro 4. It instantly went to the top of my shoe rotation. Great with easy paces, comes alive when the pace goes up. But then disaster struck. I bought the Edge Paris. Oh dear that shoe compliments my running perfectly. It feels so effortlessly on the high paces. The Saucony Pro 4 just feels flat compared to the Edge.
@suranperera46207 күн бұрын
Interesting to hear, been curious about the Asics races shoes. How did you pick between the Edge and Sky?
@GTE_Channel7 күн бұрын
@suranperera4620 basically I looked at my current shoe rotation and looked for what I like at faster paces. I found that shoes that put me up my toes and have fast turnover suit me well. The Sky is much more like the Alpha Fly, it bounces you upwards, basically giving you airtime to make big steps. I don't like to bounce. The Edge is more like a Vaporfly. Putting you on your toes, putting your body more upright. Because the shoe rolls through the gait cycle really smooth it helps in faster turnover, what I like. I did not try the Sky, just the Edge. Maybe the Sky would be even better, who knows. But I really, really, enjoy the Edge so I'm not going to look back. Some of the reviews are misleading. For example if the Sky suits a reviewer better they would say the Edge feels really hard. But those who suit the Edge better will say it feels soft. Wich one do you feel most drawn to? I must say they are quite narrow midfoot. When I tried them on the arch felt high and really hurt my foot just standing, almost send them back without running. But after 2 runs that feeling has changed to a nice supportive feel.

Tom.. I just bought the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris and I'm concerned about it being too stiff/firm for late in a Marathon. I'm around a 3:10 marathoner so do you think I'd be better off with the Hoka Cielo X1?
@GTE_Channel7 күн бұрын
Why do you think it's to stiff? This seems to be a new trend with runners. I have the Edge planning on using it for my 3:00-3:10 attempt at the end of the year Ran my first Marathon on the Altra Vanish Carbon. That's a really firm shoe, but it also remained stable. It performed perfectly. In my opinion soft and squishy does not equal better perse.

@@TheJhong47 No I thought it performed well. It's a very smooth shoe for me, no complaints at all. It's not as bouncy as the pro 3 but it's more comfortable and really easy to turn the legs over.
