The Nimbus is Asics tried and true shoe for those (runners) who will also use them for everyday walking uses. The Novablast are for just running who want a little more giddy up as a daily trainer with cushion.

Once again a really good review but I’m noting increasingly the quality of Kieron’s reviews. Clear concise rationale for why he likes it. I’ve moved from thinking Kieron can offer alternative views based on his personal preference to a reverent respect for the diligence he takes in testing a running shoe. Thanks all - esp Kieron!

I took my new NB 5s for their first outing this evening and really enjoyed them. Marathon pace and slightly quicker and they were very enjoyable to run in. I’m impressed!

Can’t relate, I use my Novablast 5 for easy runs, they are way too soft for me to pick up the pace like I can in the Superblast. I can see a lighter runner preferring them or a slower runner.

That's definitely true for me I think I'm not heavy enough to make the sb2 work at all; novablast work way better for me. Sb2 feel like total bricks...not heavy just hard as a rock and give me nothing back from them.

My novablast 5’s felt amazing on the first run. Feel more normal now though so give it a few runs haha

I really wish asics would make a wide in the nova blast. It's very frustrating having a wide foot. There's just such a limited variety in models and especially colours!! And race shoes you can basically forget it.

Nick; 'I dont think either produces a very lively ride..' I suppose everything is relative but having run in the NB5 I think maybe I must have been running in a different shoe! Feels really springey and propulsive to me. Though I do weigh 13st so maybe heavier runners feel that more?!

Cant say I see the point of the Nimbus. It seems like it would only appeal to a beginner wanting a lot of cushioning and thinking the more cushioning the better (it also looks nice). To be honest, I am waiting for the Novablast vs Ride 18 comparison

Nimbus 25 was my first running shoe and when i was 268 pounds Now that I'm 158 I use more mid stack with stability so it's def for heavier people id say
