Saucony Triumph 21 Vs New Balance More V4 | Which cushioned shoe is our favourite?

Thank you for a very comprehensive comparison. These are the exact two shoes between which I was torn. I am a big fan of both NB and Saucony because these are two of the four Boston shoe companies that get me to the Boston Marathon each year (Reebok & Topo are the other two). I was looking for a recovery / easy pace shoe. I went with the More v4 for a few reasons. (i) I already have the Speed 3 for up-tempo workouts, and the Pro 3 for racing. (ii) The More v4 heel drop is more suited for easy paces when you don't need to be in a forward lean. (iii) I wanted to mix up the midsoles and heel drops in my rotation. Thanks again.

Thank you, very nice comparison. My thinking is if you do have a rotation, do More v4 for easy and long runs and get something else for the up tempo stuff.

I own both and I much prefer the Triumph. The more V4 feel heavier and are narrower than expected in the midfoot area. The positive is that they’re very stable and I think it helps on tired legs. The Triumph are much more dynamic and I was easily able to use them for long runs (20-25K). I think both shoes durability are really good.

Interesting comparison. I tired on a pair of Triumph 20s and More v4s recently and bought the Saucony's (they were half off at US $80). But in the back of mind I still wanted the More v4s for my Ironman long runs, as the Triumph doesn't feel like a shoe for runs >1.5 hrs. I did some long runs in a pair of Alphafly1s last fall and my legs felt amazingly fresh afterwards, so I'm looking for something similar and thought the More v4s could be that shoe.

I love the ZoomX Invincible version 1, but the tread has worn down on the lateral heels. Should I buy another pair for about $190, or take a chance that I’ll love the Triumph 21 which I can get for $144? No interest in the Invincible 3 because of what they did to the heel.

I have booths in the preview version … but Saucony to run and More to walk it’s to heavy… they are very different

FYI, typo in the title -- "our" not "out" maybe. I do like the more v4. I like the look of the Saucony shoes but the NBs are a lot easier to get on sale.

Had the More V4 for a few months, just can't get on with it, its so big and bulky and just not much fun to run in, feels like it's weighing me down. No good for me.

The more V4 has to be one of the biggest let downs after just how incredible I thought the V3 version was. The problems begin with the tongue, which is so poorly conceived I thought it was a manufacturing issue on my pair. But that is just how they are. For me the ride is also a lot less enjoyable than the previous versionn. I haven’t run in the Triumph 21’s yet but I got the new ASICS Superblast which are incredible! I’ve never enjoyed the other ASICS that have been popular over the past couple years but the Superblast are a revelation. Anyway that is my experience. Of course everyone else’s may be different.

Haven't tried the 21, but I have put maybe over 1,000klm on the v4... Also goes good in ultra trail runs here in Australia 🦘

These NB running shoes lasted only 6 months until the upper tissue teared close to the front sole. Don't advise it.

Doesn’t matter what pace…. Triumph is just so much more enjoyable and capable than the More V4. Max cushion shoes are pointless now that all rounders like the triumph, speed 3 and super trainers are everywhere.

The V4 feels ridiculously soft on foot. Im a tall and slightly heavy runner and my worry is that I will run the midsole flat premature. Anyone with experiences on that?
