Excellent! Any recommendations for campgrounds? I understand some are right on the water

The miracle mile has camping all along its length. Some are established and some are dispersed. I think you can camp pretty much anywhere in that area.

I hooked into a big one in the exact same spot as that first fish in early August. It went and just sat on the bottom and I popped the hook trying to move it.

That's a bummer. There are some absolute hogs in there. I've had a few break me off faster than I can think.

Thanks. I'll go check yours out as well. Argentina is a spot I want to check out one of these days.

Right. It's sweet. Andrea Larko did the art work that's on the cushion and the stickers on the side as well as did some hand drawn stuff on the sides. I won it in a charity auction for mayfly project. You used to be able to buy the sticker and cushion set but I don't know if they are still available.

Question: why do you care so much about water temp? Ive watch a lot of videos and no one has ever talked about temps? Just wondering if there is something I’ve not heard before. Thanks in advance.
@TheRustedTrout2 жыл бұрын
No problem. It's a part of trying to maintain the fishery as best as possible. When the water gets above 70 degrees the mortality rate on catch and release fishing is supposed to go up due to less oxygen available in the water. You need to try to play fish faster and keep in the water more as well as releasing them in moving water when temps get higher or better yet go target a different species that isn't as temp sensitive. I believe they are still doing some studies to fully understand the impact but that's the basics that I've been told.

@@TheRustedTrout thank you so much for that information, I truly had never heard this and will make myself more aware next time I head out. Im going on a float trip at the Grey Reef in a week . I think the water temps are going to be frigid. Lol. Thank you once more.

No problem. Its really only a factor a few months of the year when temps are high and flows are low. Grey reef should be fun. We are thinking of maybe going out there mid November as well.

@@TheRustedTrout I’m going to do a float with the guys from Ugly Bug. Cant wait, hoping on landing one of the infamous Big Browns. Im pretty new at the game of Fly Fishing, but love the challenge.
