What a beautiful song. My MIL is at the beginning (she knows she's got dementia), but it's hard to watch her realize that she's losing her memories of family and friends. And realizing that we'll never truly make "new" memories again moving forward is just as difficult, especially for her sons.

Dang, i had to pause this song several times, so i won't cry. This is the sweetest song I've heard in a while.

I work in elder care. This song is so beautiful. ❤ I meet people when they have already lost themselves, but I listen closely to their stories so I can tell them about themselves on their worse days

I love this, my family and I took care of my grandmother for who suffered dementia for 8 years. It was the hardest thing we could ever do but it was worth ever moment to be able to have that last day with her where she was HER again and knew how much we loved her before we lost her. I’ll always miss her, the pain hasn’t gone away and it will never go away, but she was the strongest woman I’ve ever known.

I lost my grandmother on 11.11.2021. I was her care giver including hospice until the day she passed away. She had dementia and at nighttime I, her granddaughter became her mama every night at sundown. She was a decorated Navy veteran and I ensured I told her her stories. She knew who she was, even when she forgot again, love got us through. THANK YOU FOR THIS SONG...My heart, my soul, my grief NEEDED this song.

I have sobbed today with this song x3 like I haven't since my brother's diagnosis of FTD (front temporal dementia) - he left too soon. I had not seen him in years and did not see him before he left, though he called me twice - his wife communicated with me. There was a point where I felt inside that his spirit was gone and that he was free - not long after that, he quickly began deteriorating and then he was gone. I live in a community of elders and this song means so much. Thank you so much. 💜

I've gone through it with both of my parents. Don't be afraid. But if you honestly think that they may go through it, get voice recordings now. Get memories written down now. Take all the photos now. Love them hard now. But don't be afraid. Because you will know who you are and who they are. You will be their memory. I won't say it's easy. But i did it and I know you can, too.
