Let them make you the bad guy. Let them. Stop trying to be understood by people who want you to be the cause of their pain.
Surrender to the fact that how other people see you isn’t who you actually are, nor is it who you need to be.
It is safe to live a life where only you understand you. Frustrating, but you’re older now, you can stand up for yourself now. You can walk away now. You can set boundaries now.
It’s time to let go of the part of yourself that needs to be seen by the people who never will. It’s a losing game. And freeing yourself from that will give you your power back. (And maybe feel like a huge relief as well, rather than grief. Which can honestly be a little surprising).
Sometimes doing the work is as simple as choosing not to engage in a battle that you never started.
