Hi Anna I find your videos so informative. I have a question. My nails had gel overlay on them for years. Have had them off now for 10 months. My nails have grown back nicely, however my ring fingers have developed separation of the the nail bed from underneath. It’s white looking. I believe it’s called Onycholysis. It’s a strange feeling and those nails are very weak. Any suggestions/recommendations?? Thank you!!

I really love the look of a simple clear nail polish. It's my go-to, it's sort of like a uniform for me. I do wear colored nail polish from time to time but I always comeback to the clear ones. Another benefit of wearing clear nail polish is that even if it chips away, it's not noticeable.

Hey Anna~ I hope all is well with you. While I so appreciate all I have learned from you about manicures and pedicures - and it is a lot though I’ve been doing my nails since I was eight and my toes since high school, it is two things you always say that I most appreciate. And they are now like mantras to me. “Be gentle!” “Progress, not perfection!” My hands and nails, and feet and toes are healthier than ever. And so isn’t my life. When I saw the benefits to my body of those two teachings, I tried them on my life. I am not only less harsh or demanding and much more gentle and kind with myself, but I now - consciously and thoughtfully - slow myself down and appreciate each “win,” each bit of progress, if you will, as I didn’t before. Thank you so very much! 👏🏻💖

@@TheSalonLife I agree. But I can - and do - hope that one of the benefits of social media is to short-circuit the learning process for younger people that could come from hearing from people who have “experienced some things.” The world seems especially chaotic now and we all can find not only solace but strength… if we can stay open. It never occurred to me that conversations about nail care, no matter how sophisticated, could - let alone would - have such a big impact on my life. But they did and they do. 💖

I have been following your tips, and while I do my own gel manicure instead of nail polish, I have seen such improvement in my nails! Cuticle oil really is AMAZING, it does make my nails feel more flexible, I feel it has contributed to my gel not lifting and lasting longer. And my skin around the nails looks great now! I will try a regular polish mani soon to see how it goes with your tips, since I havent done regular polish in yeaaaars because it just didn't last more than 2 or 3 days, and I dont have time to change it that often. Regardless, thank you!!!

Hi Anna! I’m a fan of the DD Transformers, both the newer sheer white and the pinker one. They definitely need a bit of thinner from time to time. My nails have ridges that look better with a bit of help. Current mani has been on entirely too long, but so far no damage, and I am curious to see if it will hold up until my usual at home manicure day on Sunday. Not wearing a vivid color this time, so I’m sure that helps any damage from being really visible. Just feeling grateful to have found so much useful information from you, it’s really nice to be more confident about this aspect of my self care.

greetings dear I have been struggling with separating my nails for over a year. it started after removing the gel and putting evelin polish 8 in 1. after a few days of wearing it, my nails lifted. most of it has grown, but there is still a problem with 4 nails. I don't know why I haven't tried it yet, but nothing helps. dermatologists say that I'm exaggerating and that they don't see any problem. Water bothers me a lot, but so do gloves because my hands sweat in them and my nails come off. I feel like I'm in a vicious circle. please continue with your friend's routine and it will help. thank you for existing and publishing such a problem

Anna, your nails always look so perfectly manicured with a clear coat. Is Dazzle Dry what you use on yourself?
@praxisfurnaturheilkunde53942 ай бұрын
Good work (as always!). And how do you thin out a top coat?
@missmochiicecream2 ай бұрын
For anyone who's curious about Dazzle Dry's ridge filler, I'm personally a huge fan of it. I have some ridges in my nails and Dazzle Dry polishes (+ top coat) dry down thin enough that it shows the ridges in whatever polish I use. The ridge filler only takes 5 minutes to dry (just like the top coat), so it doesn't add much more time to your manicure if you end up using it. I highly recommend it for those people who don't like the appearance of their ridges or for anyone who wants that slightly plumper look that you sometimes can get when using gel products. It is definitely a personal preference, though! Anna - will you have future manicures that don't include the electronic file? I'd love to see more of those. Lovely video as always! 💖
@tab5567Ай бұрын
Thank you for that info. I hate my ridges and have yet to find a ridge filler that really makes a difference.

Hi Anna if doing a DIY manicure at home (ie no electric file) and giving your nails 1-2 days before applying polish (clear or colour) what would you recommend doing on day one when removing old polish and leaving until the next day or when ready to apply clear/colour?

Thank you for vocalizing that the more dust that starts producing, the more inclined you need to feel to move to the next spot or next nail, because that dust is an indicator of there being no cuticle being removed but the nail is being thinned out / damage!

Do you know if there is a clear polish that also clear of most chemicals that is not a hardener nor strengthener that I could use that gives my natural nail flexibility? I ask because my nails keep cracking, snapping, or peeling.
@TheSalonLifeАй бұрын
Non of the clear polishes are strengtheners really and it’s very rare to find formalin in a polish. Most of the “treatment” polishes on the market are simply clear nail polishes. If your nails are brittle try warm jojoba soaks. Non of the polishes are actually beneficial for the nails (despite all the marketing). They are good for decoration and that’s it. :)
@scorpiooct25Ай бұрын
@@TheSalonLifeThanks for responding so quickly. Bummer, but thanks. For the jojoba soaks, how frequently should I do them, and would you suggest I use a strengthener after the soaks, or just wear my natural nail without any polish? The look I’m going for is just a “natural nail”.
@TheSalonLifeАй бұрын
Please see this video about warm soaks Dry, Brittle, Splitting, Peeling Nails? Solution: DIY Warm Jojoba Treatment! kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6CWZGibjMtpiJY And like I said, polish does not improve condition of the nails. It can actually contribute to surface damage.

Whenever I push back my cuticles I get terrible, painful "hangnails" about a ahalf to one cm back towards the first knuckle. Skin goes red and swollen and the skin tears off in tiny strips.
@TheSalonLife2 ай бұрын
If the skin around the nail is stuck to the nail (that is not cuticle) make sure you take care of that skin first with some kind of exfoliant cream and then start nudging the skin, NOT pushing or separating it or tearing it. The skin needs to be elastic and healthy in order to bounce back. Follow this: 3 simple habits that will transform your nails (for the better!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn27loyqiaxrhbc
