I am not too good with the computer I'll have to get my son to send pictures. You might want to join the Catboat Association there is a lot of good info there. The annual meeting is Jan 26-28, 2018 in Mystic Conn. They have some good workshops that you might be interested in. If you haven't already you might want to check out the Catboat Association website at Catboats.org.

I was thrilled to find your channel. I've always wanted to do what you are doing but never had the skills to do so. I caved in and bought a new Marshall 22 after the used boat that I was looking at fell through. So I guess I am going to have to live vicariously through you. Not sure if you are still monitoring your old video comments or not, but I wish you all the best with this project. All the best from cold and rainy Boston. Great choice in boats. I had a 1970 Marshall Sanderling that was completely restored, See if you can pick up Good Old Boat magazine from March/April 2005. My boat was on the cover. Starting on page 28 it shows how to do what you plan on doing. Good luck, can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi Matt, I have a '72 Nowak and Williams HA18, (you've probably seen that shorthand on the Catboat association site). I thought this was a very well made, visually interesting and informative video. I've subscribed the the Salvation Navy facebook page. I live in Fall River, MA and am originally from Bristol, RI, right across Mt. Hope Bay. I'm looking forward to watching your progress, thanks!

Hello matt, my name is Dan. I just found a squadron yachts 15 which is a gaff rigged cat boat that takes the same exact sail as the America,!!! I am so psyched to find your channel :-) doing a lot of the same things you've done. I've got to rain myself and I want to watch this stuff in order. Thank you so much! And by the way, any idea where I can find a sale I need one bad 😂

Hi, I also have been restoring a HA 18. That effort was published in Good Old Boat magazine last year. I do have an annoying slight leak which I have traced ( maybe) to a leaking centerboard pin. The last builder of HA 18 is still in business and said that refibreglassing around the pin is easy and I'm planning to do that this spring. I trying to find out if the pin is located above or below the cabin floor. It's difficult to measure from under the boat with the board still in. Do you know where it goes through the centerboard trunk. It's not obvious when I removed the facia around the trunk. Appreciate any info. George

Did you get a good price on the boat?
@TheSalvationNavy7 жыл бұрын
I did. It has been on the market for a while and it needs a lot of work, but nothing extensive as far as I am concerned. Most people want one they can put in the water and go. But a fixer-upper is really the only way I can swing one of these right now and I love restoring boats anyway, so it worked out.
