I’m hoping to see this platform extended to IDEX (which would not need extra belts), or even better, a tool changer. Tools could simply be parked on short magnetic linear rails along the sides. The x rail would be moved to abut with them, and then the tool slid on or off. On the surface, this seems a much better way to build a tool changer than the current docking methods.

I own one too and after several problems (early unit) its now my favorite printer. Absolute amazing. But you need to print fast. Slow speed will do much VFA unfortunately. But this machine is made for speed anyway. You can print (with good profiles and magnet motors calibrated) easy with 300 to 400 mm/s (0.2 mm layer, 0.4 nozzle) in BambuLab quality. Realy love it! Thanks for this nice review.

Any idea where the VFA's are coming from? Really surprised they're still around with the belts gone. I'm wondering if its some weird extrusion gear issue?
@Holger_aka_Schmudi6 күн бұрын
@MoonWind32690 its from the motors. They are not at constant velocity because of the magnets. That's a typical thing from magnetic drive. Peopoly is working on it to reduce it to the minimum. The actual units have different magnet rails and little different motors afaik.
@MoonWind326906 күн бұрын
@@Holger_aka_Schmudi Just got mine setup, I'm not seeing any VFAs but I haven't printed many models. The magnet stepping is surprising but also sounds like the same issues that lead to LDO motors. Just getting things updated and saw the 'motor tuning' section. I imagine I'll want to probably wait and see what Peopoly can manage to do as they're likely better than I would be ^_^ Thanks for the clarity!

Some real world speeds, as that "up to" is likely the long meltzone with a .8 and ABS. I've been printing PLA on the medium meltzone (comes with medium and long) with the .4 nozzle and at 230C I cap out between 18 and 22 cubic mm/s flow rate depending on the filament brand, which gets me around 300mm/s speed. Flow tests really went to around 24, but I bumped ot down a little for safety factor. At that speed and temp, I'm getting very good layer adhesion, something I've tuned for as something I print a lot needs it. Speaking of tuning, the repeated mentions are for good reason. You definitely want to go through the Ellis guide and some others and really dial things in. When you do that, it's quite happy to keep banging out prints. Another thing to mention is that customer support has been really really great with the couple of issues I had with my preorder shipping wave printer. Keeping in mind that support is based in China so if you're westward they won't be on normal business hours in your region, they're super helpful and willing to work with you until your issue is identified and resolved. I was having load cell issues and told them I'd had an oops trying to lower the bed that crashed it into the toolhead pretty thoroughly and would be happy to pay for replacement parts as it was likely my fault. They just sent the parts without charging as their primary focus was making sure I was back up and running. Overall I've really liked it, and have had very good results.

I've got one arriving next week and I'm excited to try it out. My other two printers are Prusa and Bambu, which aren't used at anywhere close to their fastest settings. I'm really looking forward to the massive build volume.

I have one coming in, mainly for my business it will be printing only 2 types of filament and 2 colors so should be able to dial it in nice Im hoping. My prusa and bambus will do the multi colors and every other filament.

I've had mine about 6 months and from what I saw in the begging of the video the changes are good. Mine did not have fans over the electronics, so added my own, the master circuit breaker is now accessible from the top instead of the bottom of the printer. My Bowden tube ran from the back to the print head, now it goes though the cable tray. I would like to see the filament sensor work. I have not found an update to their Klpper that correctly supports it. It has

Hi Sam, Thanks for your high-energy review of the Magneto X. You have energized me to install the upgrade kit Peopoly sent me for my early production unit. (and thanks for the shoutout and meeting me at 3D Printopia; I’m building my first Death Racer as we speak.)😊

you can't print color :( I too would like to get this printer it is on sale now with the enclosure but it may be a little more than I want ot handle at this time. I am at an age where I just want to print and make stuff and not have to fiddle with settings, and hardware, and software and this looks like it is a bottom less pit for tinkering - not for me but I am intrigued.

So all 3d printers are driven by electromagnets. This is actually a linear motor I believe. Sorry for being that guy.

You did it so well! But you’re right but, the point was simply magnetic
@3d1e0025 күн бұрын
@TheRealSamPrentice I'll be honest, it looks like a gimic. But it is good to have options. I'd argue the gantry weight is way higher than a core xy belt drive.

Гомно принтер. Голова тяжёлая двигается все быстро, но печатать больше 5000 ускорений без эхо не реально. А ещё моторы шипят . Как я того производителя рот видал . Такое делать.
@The_Privateer24 күн бұрын
I think the 'linear motor' shtick is pure marketing. It doesn't add anything to 3D printing, but also has plenty of cons to it. If you want something that stands out as "unique" for more money, but lesser performance... go for it. Fall for the marketing, or not.
