brandon cole. I know that, but I wished the heel work was little more thought out rather than just saying someone sucks. Like normally heels try to spin the narratives to make them look like they were slighted or doubted like Mike and Chance. Either that or it’s like it’s ingrained into how they play the game like a Chandreau. Jader hasn’t really done anything to anyone yet, so just trashing him to trash him kinda comes off as unsettling. I think the better approach would of been like a fake sense of pity like treating him like a lamb going out to the slaughter. Like play up the dysfunction of the droogs, and act like Jader is helpless. Shannon did that pretty effectively against Ken. But if you measure a heel by how many people don’t like you, her approach will work.

Roxy, before you complain about getting too much shit from people, maybe try going back and rewatching yourself. It’s easy to expect empathy when you’re getting lit in the comments, but ever wonder why it’s primarily you and not the other managers?
@Just_Ben_

Genuinely curious, why do people think Roxy’s good on the mic? I always think her “digs” are very basic and she repeats the same stuff again and again. “You suck” isn’t really an inspired roast and it was starting to feel like she used the term “charity case” about a dozen times. Praising your competitors numbers and bashing their opponent’s number (which she does every match) almost feels like a parody of what a manager does. Also, think it’s worth pointing out that Alex Damon is responsible for 10 of the Roxstars total 12 points. If you remove Damon, the Roxstars are currently 1-6 with 2 points.

I can pass off the smack talk. She's a heel so whatever. But she claims to be one of the best managers and claims that she hypes up her players... yet her players are not performing except Damon (who was awesome long before noting). It's also worth noting that Roxy lost 2 play-in matches 😬
@Just_Ben_
@Just_Ben_ 4 жыл бұрын
Davis Parks I don’t have an issue with actual smack talk. Ghai, Shannon, Kalinowski, Napzok, Rocha, and others are great at it. I’m just saying that if you’re going to smack talk, maybe try something a little more creative and know how to direct it instead of just saying “He’s a charity case and he sucks” on loop.

I used to love Roxy until this match. I still love her outside of being a Schmoedown manager. She was my favorite part of Collider Live and I enjoy her livestreams. Still a massive fan of hers in general, but her manager character is just becoming waaay too much. To be honest I was never a massive fan of the heel vs. face thing in Schmoedown to begin with, but she's worse than most of the other heels in that regard.

This episode for the managers was one of the strangest that exist because of Ken's isolation character that reached a peak with the promo before the Star Wars tournament but has shifted into this philosophizing man of nirvana since he was given the managerial reins. On the other side, you have Roxy, who I think is still one of the worst, if not the worst, managers because she isn't a tactician and now, her pump-up stuff has gotten a little stale; in this match, she was hurling the kind of insults at Jader that have the imagination of a toddler...or maybe the current president. So, for both, it was odd and not one of the faction leader battle of the titans Pretty good match overall. 2 things: Why was it that Vejvoda checked to multiple choice so many times in Round 2 when he said that he knew the answer? Also, there is no comparison of the 5-pointers and their difficulty as Jader had to guess the main bad guy from a popular Will Smith movie, and Vejvoda had to name the law firm, which is always titled after 3 or 4 peoples' last names, in a well-regarded but not quite as popular Tom Cruise movie. Maybe if they asked who the mob boss was that the FBI was investigating or what gift Will Smith bought for his wife that was interrupted by the tape transfer, or where he and Jason Lee went to school, but there was a clear discrepancy between those 5-pointers

The discrepancy between the two 5 pointers was insane. Someone would have to remember three non-descript lawyer names to get Jim's question, and Jader's question was about the third billed actor in a well-known Will Smith movie who has a prolific film career.

Roxy is trying to be a heel but she is being the worst kind of heel. When all you do is say your opponent sucks and shouldn't be there you get in a no win situation. If you win then your player beat a nobody. It means nothing. If you lose then your player looks bad and you look like an idiot. What makes it worse is that none of it is clever. Just saying "Jader sucks" over and over isn't good heel work. Just makes me want to skip anytime she is on.

Vejvoda had really bad luck. Opponents choice vs spinner's choice. Then Jader gets an easy 5 while he gets an impossible one. He definitely needs to take his time on questions he knows and use his repeats rather than go immediately to multiple choice. That was so frustrating to listen to. I can’t believe on every question in round 2 jim said I know this...but let’s be safe. You’re in a tournament! Can’t afford to be safe. Not on every question. I dunno if it was just nerves or rust. That was a bummer. and it came back to get him.

I feel Jim went to multiple choice too often when he actually knew the answer, could of had 3 extra points. Also I don’t get Roxys character she’s just rude, the best heels can do it without disrespecting the opponent

I definitely regret doing the multiple-choice in hindsight. Live and learn!

James Vejvoda with Jader pulling his 5 I don’t think it would have mattered anyway but you are obviously very knowledgeable I would trust yourself more next time

Jader could do some damage as he keeps getting better and you can tell he's got solid common sense. Vejvoda has had a string of bad luck lately, but I know from his IGN days that he's a killer. It'll be nice to see his comeback campaign next season. I will say this...I like Roxy, but at the moment she is undeservedly aggressive and needs a slice of humble pie. Win first and then talk down on the opponents. She's giving me Team Action flashbacks 😆.

Eh, I don't really have much to say about this match *Shrugs* A lot of people are saying Roxy was so mean in this match when there are so many managers or competitors that are so much meaner and get off on it (Korruption being the biggest example of that) so that was nothing. I don't have a problem with Roxy, however I didn't care for her rude attitude towards Jader in this match. She was trying too hard. So far Ken is doing a decent job as a manager and he's going good at being supportive to his competitors as well.

It's either "assholes" or "Massholes" since Roxy is from Mass, presumably Vejvoda is from there too.

I know Roxy is a heel, but she is not acting like a heel, she seems like she is trying to just rattle the other player and it is not working. Both their two point questions were easy surprised they did not know them. Not five point questions were tough.
