I have an old AYA number 4 and love it as I was brought up with side by sides. Out of respect I only use 24g cartridges. I celebrate 70 years as a shooter this year and as an 'oldie' always thought a cabinet is not complete without a s x s. Had a nice chat with your mum and dad, David, when I visited a few years ago as I used to shoot the same competitions and sometimes in the same squad. Still wish I could afford a #2

I have that Wild Fowler and a Victor Sarasqueta 6E from 1975 which is a stunning gun, love them both in equal but different measures. Get both! The Victor give so much pleasure to shoot, its so beautiful to look at and great to shoot. The Wild Fowler could take a few hundred heavy shells with no issues at all on a clay range. Comes with a good amount of RH cast too standard.

great video! I would buy them both. they are so similar but yet so different. I love the AYA for special game days and the Yildiz for a clay hammer

I have noticed there are more SXS guns at clay grounds than there was.

How about a discussion about short barrelled side by sides like the AYA XXV.

Brilliant shooting as always David, really enjoyed the video. Personally I would go for the Yildiz every time as it's single trigger, great fun for clays without the punishment, certainly alot better than my Baikal side by side!

I have a few nice shotguns and my favorite is a 52 year old 26 inchcolour hardened aya no.2 that cost me 900 quid.its been used alot and looks it which is why it was relitivly cheap,i was going to refinish the stock and get it reblued but i thought no!! Its got character so its staying as it is 😎

Had a yildiz sxs only gun I have had problems with the trigger locking up on the second shot was glad to see the back of it , yes they are a heavy gun . It was a shame if it wasn't for the trigger I would of kept hold of it , traded it in on a Webley &Scott 700 whichi much prefer

I have just purchased a Fabarm Classis 20 sxs for a lot of clay shooting and I found it a great gun. However if I want a gun for the odd clay session, I would go for a nice English sxs

I have that same Yildiz and it's a nice gun. I could buy four of them for the cost of an AYA like yours, so I think I will just stick with what I have. I enjoyed your video and you are quite a shot! Thank you for the commentary and demo!

Hi guys, love David and the content. But please please use the over the shoulder shot (camera wise) to track the clay and shooter in one. At the moment the clay is being hit at around the very top left of the frame and isn't really very clean viewing. I say that as a fan but also video professional x

* I always assumed that David wasn't as concerned about his audience observing how well his shooting broke the targets, rather I suspected that he wanted his audience to see how good he thinks he looks shooting at these targets. IMO, it is rather boring watching a shooter practice his trigger pull, or waiting for the gun to malfunction.
Would love to get a at aya #2, but on this side of the pond they are rare and expensive used. I have a Yildiz and a Huglu ( CZ bobwhite project upland) and much prefer the Huglu, better fit and finish, balance and a tad less weight.

I like the comparison and although years ago I had the AYA I think today I would opt for a modern SxS - they seem more versatile- clays and game and more forgiving in terms of recoil if heavier cartridges are needed. I’ve fought against it but before I finally retire from the sport I think I’d like a final fling with a SxS - nostalgia🤷♂️.

Another great film David! My local shooting club occasionally puts on simulated game days. It would be really great to turn up with a an 'English-style' side-by-side. I'm more interested in and an older AYA than a modern side-by-side; I need to try one. Beretta offer a side-by-side I believe? Would you be able to do a film about one of these?

A few Yildiz shotguns have made their way to Southern California. Their Achilles heel is the heavy trigger. Perhaps others react otherwise, but it throws off my shooting.

I'd like to find a thorough how-to-shoot-a side-by-side from A to Z. Until so far I've only found videos that show excellent shooters enjoy their shooting. Where I use (to try) to shoot my s/s the "instructors" only tell me to get a "proper" gun.

Just purchased a matched pair of VS 12g sxs. Having a little work done to them before I pick them up. My son and I will be comparing them to a matched pair of Aya No 2s that I have in my cabinet. I can't wait as the Gunsmith I bought them from rated them slightly more then the Aya No 2s which I also bought from him. 👍👍
