Photo transfer to soda can: This video shows you an easy and fast way how to transfer photos to soda cans. The basic process is that you copy your picture first onto regular paper. Then you transfer the photo to a self-adhesive film. Thereafter you stick the film to a soda can. Follow the silhouette of your photo with a soldering iron. The soldering iron will act like a knife and you end up with a stencil on the soda can. This stencil then can either be used to etch the open aluminum or to transfer ink onto the soda can. After removal of the stencil you will have your beautiful picture on the soda can.

Also, if you can feed 12v AC current, the metal will blacken instead of just etch out.

I have discovered that if you use the same method here to make your stencil on the can ~ there is another way to paint on a design: silicone brush mix mica powder with UV clear resin hard in silicone mixing cup, heat the coloured resin in the cup with a resin heat gun, small plastic funnel the coloured resin into a plastic tip bottle adding a bent nosed tip, place a short ball head pin 📍 in the bottle tip, mix up all the UV resin colours you need, use the bottles to outline the stencil, dry the outline with a UV resin torch 🔦 , you can then repeat the same process to colour in your resin design UV torching each colour as you work, you don’t need to seal it after either!!

Puuhh - das kann ich Dir nicht sagen .... habe es nie probiert. Bei Aluminium ätzt vieles gute bei tiefem pH-Wert. Ich nehme an dass da Edelstähle eben besser sind ... aber probieren geht über studieren.

So Edding is a German permanent marker like a Sharpie in North America? Instead of using a soldering iron, Can you just use an Exacto knife?

@@GetUrPhil seem so - was the answer to the permanent marker. Of course you can also try to use a knife to remove the plastic, however with a fine soldering iron it is easier. Have a try!

Guten Tag Wo bekomme ich so eine Etching Station und die Kabel mit den Klemmen? Im Obi konnte man mich nicht beraten. Da fand ich keine 12 Volt Batterie und auch die Kabel bzw. Klemmen nicht. Für das Schneiden der Vorlage eignet sich übrigend ein Schneide Plotter. Besten Dank für due coolen Tutorials!

Dann würde ich empfehlen mal online zu suchen. Keywords sind: Bleibatterie 12v 7Ah. Somit sollten vorallem kleine Batterien angezeigt werden. Zum Laden braucht es dann noch ein Ladegeräte für Autobatterien. Keyword für Kabel: Kabel mit Krokodilklemmen. Ein Adapter welcher am Strom angeschlossen 12V generiert reicht nicht, da hier die Stromstärke zu klein ist. Empfiehlst Du einen Schneide Plotter? Geht der Aluminiumblechen von Soda Cans?

@@LeFreak um Blech bzw Aluminium zu schneiden reicht es wohl nicht mit dem Schneide Plotter. Balsaholz kann er zwar schneiden. Ich habe es selbst noch nicht versucht. Er kann aber die Vorlage aus Vinylfolie schneiden welche man dann via Transferfolie auf das zu ätzende Matetial übertragen werden kann.

Ich hoffe ich finde geeignetes zubehör, zumal es ja Strom ist und ich mich damit nicht auskenne (Stromschlag). Kann das sein das die Autobatterie Ladestation um die 50-70 Franken kosten?

Yeah I think the marker is just as good. Maybe you have to let it dry and then add another layer. The other advantage is that you can easily removed it with acetone and then start again. In the video at 5:15 you can see Brian May. He is done with a black permanent marker. Do you see a difference?
