Your new home is in one of the most beautiful settings in Scotland I’ve ever seen, if I was only 40 years younger, I actually envy you. You are still young and have many years to enjoy such beautiful surroundings. You two live long and prosper, because life is so short. You look like the beautiful Scottish woman I picture in my mind, love the way you dress I love the plaids you wear. I love my Keltic ancestry. I hope you do too. “Tha mi an dochas gun tig na aislingean agad gu leir gu buil”.

Stumbled across your wonderful video's this afternoon ❤ beautiful, I'm going to love this so much.. l spent 2 years with a now ex partner in the Highlands of Scotland and Aberdeen l fell in love with him and the Highlands. Loch Milch on the Braymar Estate, Ballater, The Lin of Dee. Many places my love made me welcome.. Elan Donan Castle the Isle of Sky...❤ l ended up following one of my dreams, buying a 59ft narrowboat, lived on board constant crusing without transport or TV for 10 years ❤😢sorry to leave her, my wonderful boat longdog..❤

I try to disconnect from the bad news frenzy that surrounds most of us nowadays but some days it all becomes too much and that is when your videos provide great comfort that there are still people living according to the principles that I feel are necessary for a wholesome and peaceful world. At age 76 I am lucky enough to still be active and live on a small holding in the Peak District in a stone cottage which we renovated and restored in our 20s. Naturally hopeful and optimistic I am finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the world as presented on the various media: thank you so much for providing interest and solace:)

Loving your channel guys. However as I'm approaching my 77th summer, it would be a tough call for me to do the same. Although when I was holidaying on Isle of Lewis, a croft came on the market at £186k. Which equivalent to $360k NZD. Yes I was tempted. But the climate was not good even in summer. So I'll watch your channel. Btw have you done anything more about that well.? I will watch with interest. Thanks for sharing and atb from down under.

Thank you for sharing. seeing the beauty that surrounds you leaves me feeling so calm and tranquil. I'm so pleased that you aren't leaping ahead with a major demolition project, small steps, treading placidly. Although. I'm very eager to see the creation of your vegetable garden. You have plenty of leaf mold, seaweed, woodchip, and other resources to begin making exceptional compost right upon your doorstep. In raised beds, this will add to the top soil upon the island that is your rock. You've probably started this already, I'm binge watching during a stressful time in my life and have only made it to episode 6. My watching continues.

Wow what a beautiful location and some fantastic logs and fallen trees that would make some beautiful slabs and planked timber for your restoration and woodworking projects. I would take a look at the Logosol F2 chain sawmill an ultra-portable sawmill and the Panther chainsaw mill, it will save you a fortune in timber costs. I would also take a look at a powered transporter like the Titan Pro Electric Tracked Barrow, Transporter, Dumper, 450KG Capacity? Humping logs on your shoulder is going to kill your back. Do you have a covered fire wood and timber store to keep your wood dry in the winter? Keep up the good work…

We 100% agree with you. The problem with the use of music is the expense. We're a fledgling channel and the cost of licensing any kind of music is hugely prohibitive; we basically cannot afford to pay to use other tunes at this juncture. The demise of many a KZbin channel is due to copyright infringements. We have to be super careful in how we use any kind of music on The Scottish Isle. We hope you understand our dilemma. - Scott.
@sisuriffs
@sisuriffs Жыл бұрын
@@TheScottishIsle Understood! I am certainly no expert, but apparently there are music catalogues one can subscribe to for a very low monthly fee which give you full rights of use. Alternatively, many musicians on KZbin will gladly let you use their original material for free if you credit them in your vlog. A search of 'royalty free' music might be helpful. Not sure how it all works specifically in Scotland. You have a brilliant channel, and we wish you all the best from here in Canada!

Do you have a back-up supply [a generator or electric] at all or are you reliant on wood alone? I see the electrical poles, so assume there's an option to heat that way. You're going to need many cords of wood if you're dependent on that alone and I don't see them anywhere. As the days draw in on the mainland, I'm thinking of your food larder too since you arrived to late to grow anything. It's late in the year to start in on all you're expecting. I hope you've laid in plenty as it may be rough crossing the water to buy-in later on. Depending on weather, that might even be impossible. I see there are other living close by and imagine they'll be some help if needed. Or are they holiday homes? What will anybody deliver to you there? Unless you're expert, I'd stay off the waterways in winter. Even the ferries can pack it in if a gale sets up. I know everybody says it looks "idyllic" and they're probaby thinking of a summer holiday. I've lived on a Scottish mountain 14 years now, and know you have to prepared for all-sorts and the winters get long. I'm older than you and alone, but you don't look like youngsters.

Your channel is quickly growing on me, and I’m grateful for your videos! I stopped for one frame and painted a watercolor landscape from your stunning sky, adapting it to our shoreline dunes. Many Thanks for the inspiration, and greetings from Cape Cod, Massachusetts!

Lovely series ❤ Nice your other kitty 🐈‍⬛ made a showing. They must be enjoying life on an island. The bottle was a very cool find. Not sure if you have a boat now, I know you had talked about getting one. Looking forward to the next Vlog. :)

Difficult to put into words what it is about the landscape that you have found - I love the wilds of Scotland which are at once epic, tough, and incredibly beautiful. Maybe the word for it is honest... And I guess that the two of you know better than anyone that if a thing is well made, then it should be nurtured and taken care of. I remember years ago being in Bowmore and one of the locals telling me that the reason why the ancient church at the top of the main street had been built round was so that the devil couldn't hide in the corners! Loving your films!
