If you were wondering why those designs were included in the magazine they are original monster designs by ken sugimori that he gifted to the Microgroup Game Review magazine thanking them for interviewing him and to put as the cover of the magazine. When asked about these designs in the interview he said "I’ve tried to create some original characters using the [same] Pokemon worldview, in which everyday people coexist with cool and cute monsters. It’s another world... like Pokemon but not Pokemon."

The sea lion and anchor shark have always been favorites, but I was today years old when I learned about the ninja squirrel and tanuki, and I need all four of them rebooted in Gen 10.

I already knew about all these mons (since ive been following Lava for a long time), but man I REALLY wish Bombushika did not get scrapped I absolutely love it, so much better than Seel.

Honestly the next gimmick pokemon should roll out is betamons literally taking a bunch of their scrapped ideas and putting them on the table. Like i feel like the tanooki with the backpack on fire would be the psyduck of the region. The jiangshi panda was super creative and should be reintroduced. And lastly the litwick line pre evo should be its own and a fire/fairy type

Maybe make Litwig a regional form of Litwick or a convergent line part? Maybe the Tanuki base can make a neat main story wild one & whatever didn't serve to be inspiration for later ones can be brought to life in regions based off unused world parts

Searleo could have been a good name for the seal. Would conflict with sealed later name wise though Edit: I leave "sealed" as a testament that autocorrect, after 3 times, failed to validate Sealeo's name. Dx

What about Bombaseal or Bombapup, since it looks like a 1st stage? Searleo sounds too similar to Sealeo in gen 3.

Probably Searlion sounds a bit better tbh, but I hope this Pokémon be added at some point, I hope they revisit some of their cut Pokémon to try and find away to fit them in and a bit of redesign too, so who knows tbh
