That's a fair call on the giants cause they haven't necessarily made a ground stopping impression in finals and while they've shown alot of grit, grind and identity these past few yrs, I don't think people would be surprised if they fell out of the 8 comes seasons end. Really like your call on North and... I want to cry at the chance, the dream. Is it possible? I certainly hope so haha. Alot of people sleep on Ben King and I for one am happy to admit to it. I don't exactly recognise him as the show stopping key Forward that can win a Coleman but hey. I like a dark horse and if he can have that sort track watch for the year? Then yes I'll follow it. At the north praccy today. No way north doesn't improve this year, for sure from a very low base but there's an evenness of quality across the squad now that just didn't exist even a year ago and has been missing for the last 5 years.

Extending on call 1, GWS has huge deep mental scars that they're gonna have on their back this year after losing winnable finals. Since they reviewed the Semi-Final loss WAY TOO LATE, these scars have gone deeper into the players. Not only do I have them missing the 8, I have them winning less than 10 games.

With Ben King Hardwick's coaching style works against individual forwards getting big goal tallies. Forward pressure keep it in many paths to goal stuff. Is Clarkson a good coach who will lead North forward or is he a man of yesterday trying an old plan which no longer works.

King kicked the most goals for a non-finals player last year which is a good sign and the Suns aren't a great pressure forward side yet so I still reckon he's a big chance!

I keep getting GWS in the bottom part of the 8, in my predictor. Clarko will defeat the Evil Empire. I agree, King may live up to his promise this year; if the Suns can effectively get it to him. Otherwise ..... meh.

North will definitely go up the ladder. Recruiting well, lol except for Harley Reid. Every year the young recruits get bigger and stronger. Essendon just want to suck the lemon and rebuild. Too many non-contributors in big games. Dees and Pies can definitely do better. Port will either do really well, or fall in a heap. Just a feeling. Cats will be around. Lions will roar, just how loud. No idea on GWS. Should be around. Swans will definitely be around. Doggies, could be, thinking maybe not top contenders. Hawks will soar, hopefully, all the way.

I have a provocative question: which teams will finish bottom 4? I would have thought most people would pencil in WC, Richmond and North... but who's the fourth team? Fair to say it would be an absolutely disaster for everyone else? Daz reckons North could overtake Essendon... does that mean Essendon will be bottom four? Where would that leave Brad Scott?
