A company actually is remoddeling them with hydrogen battery’s or engines (idk) and they were turned into class 799. Sorry if I got something wrong!

You're correct! However, they're just going to be a prototype for the hydrogen technology and likely won't be put into passenger service. There are Class 769s with Northern which operate between Stalybridge and Southport which are bi-mode versions of the trains (and with other tweaks). As for the 319 itself, they've been completely retired.

A great legend gone into the history books of British Rail... A once common sight becomes a rare one You served us well 319s! (I do live near Huyton & Broadgreen so I see these units a lot. Can't believe these are already retired now. Some good old motors never to be heard again)

Still a regular sight at my local station in the guise of the 769s. As 769s they still have a couple of years left in service. Can't believe how hasty they have been in taking the 319s to scrap from Allerton depot from the time they were removed from the December timetable.

You'll still be able to see the 319's, as the majority of them left have been converted to 768's and 769's.

it's coming back to life, as class 799. The diesel engine is replaced with a hydrogen one
