Another useful video. I like how you relate everything back to the real world, and what musicians actually do.

Merci beaucoup from a ukulele player. I'm learning the fretboard using the pentatonic scale, and yes. It's easy, but I still can't do it in my sleep.

Hi Emma. When playing the pentatonic scale over the 4 chord, what do we do about the root note, since that is not in the scale? Or do we play an F- pentatonic scale over the F chord? I know, I overthink things 😂
@emmabordersmusic20 күн бұрын
This is a great question!! When first starting out, you can use the pentatonic scale of the key over any of the chords in the key. So for instance, if you’re in the key of C, you can use the C pentatonic scale over the 4, 5, 6m, ect. chords. Ultimately, the end-goal would be to be advanced enough on your instrument to play each chord’s pentatonic scale. So you could absolutely play the F pentatonic over the 4 chord, the G pentatonic over the 5 chord, so-on so-forth. Hopefully that makes sense!

Hi Emma! well done! What were the chords that you were playing during your session when you were soloing?

Thank you! The chords are C, Am, F, and G. Then those repeat one more time
