Yes, the texts should help BUT always make sure to give adequate space first. Average time is 30 days but can go anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks in some cases. If there's been some endless begging and/or refusing to cut off contact on your end, however, I usually suggest to give it more time, around 2 months or even more. Cheating instances are different if you've cheated, could be longer or shorter depending on how your ex reacts. Do take note that in some instances where the dumpee just couldn't take the hint and continually bugs their ex for months, there comes a time where the ex reaches a "breaking point" and confirms it's the right decision to break up and becomes hellbent in moving on from you. So the bottom line is the "no contact" rule is best applied when the breakup is still fresh. Hey Brad! First of all, thank you for all your amazing videos. You are truly a life saver (or relationship saver, to be more specific haha). I even recently bought the ex factor and it's helping a lot! I have a quick question to the first text after NC. I wanted try something like: ,,Hey, you won't belive, do you remember that song you showed me on our second date? When we were driving to that view? It randomly appeared in my playlist and I totally can't get it out of my head now, listening to it 24/7! I didn't try any other song from that artist yet tho, so if any other catches me the same, I will let you know. Anyway, hope you are doing well, see ya!" She loves music and she loved our second date, so I think it would suit her good and also bring some nostalgia. On the other hand, isn't it too much? Your examples of this ,,shock news" are much shorter and not giving up the news right away. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Will the messages work for second break up? The second break up was almost 1 year now, but we stayed as friends till two months ago. How long have you two been together? The best strategy would've been to bridge the physical distance because that tends to take its toll in long distance relationships, especially one that started without a solid foundation and/or where you don't really have a ton of one-on-one physical contact/quality time with each other throughout the entirety of the relationship. If she's still dealing with the rebound, then wait for a better time before interacting with your ex, however, don't wait around doing nothing. Take a leap of faith on a new path as well because you never know where life can take you, which may be better without your ex. Use this time to heal and prioritize yourself.
