As for video, I think everyone should make their own Koyaanisqatsi film, showing their own version of the world they witness. I’ve been meaning to do it myself, but I feel lost the second I try to think of where to go and what to film. I think it might need more spur-of-the-moment recordings.

Haven’t watched a video from FL or even shot street photography in over a year. This video shows up and I’m hooked again. Also, nice JM in the back! Takes a musician to know one. Did you colour coordinated your t-shirt and guitar? Wouldn’t be surprised😁

Haha welcome back!! It’s actually the video grade somehow matching them… when in reality the guitar is green and my shirt is white 😅😅😅 cheers pal 💛🙌

Great advice! Some really new ideas like taking videos which i think can open up things. Personally as a hobbyist with almost no social media following i also try to put things in context by saying to myself “ it is just taking pictures”. I generally plan my day around things i will eat or coffee I will have or the book shop i will go to 😅. Photos i take on the way sometimes are good but somehow i am always happy with something. If not I had a good day anyway at cafes etc.

I like the idea of doing some video as I am really crap at it. I can trick myself that it could be b-roll for the KZbin channel that will (thankfully) only ever exist in my head. Having a family and work absolutely changes the time you can allocate to street photography, even getting onto the Discord community can be a challenge for me!

I’ve also made that switch out of doing the same loops and focusing more on events/other projects. Been doing it for a while now as I don’t have the same amount of time some others do, so it’s all about efficiency now. Not sure what I can add to creatively otherwise. And with a baby arriving 2 weeks ago, it’s kinda compounded.

How do you select photogs featured in the magazine? Is there a portfolio submission process or is it just all social media?
@frame-lines2 ай бұрын
Shane is the editor of the magazine , there is a lot that goes into it, a photographer could have a new book out which we interview them about, it could be someone we’ve admired for a long time; the issue may be on a certain theme etc

"Great video! I'd love to see a tutorial on how to set up a solid archive for street photography-specifically, how to organize RAW files and edited photo exports with a logical folder structure. Maybe something that works independently of Lightroom collections, focusing instead on a well-structured folder approach. Greatings from Germany

I find that I enjoy the experience of using rangefinder style cameras (because my XPro1 is not *actually* a rangefinder) but… I have a really strong need/desire to see my framing accurately, which they cannot satisfy. Or maybe I just need to learn to let go of that control 😂 But, all tools have a place! SLR, Rangefinder, View Camera… Instant (Polaroid or Instax). Analog. Digital… I love my GRIII for walk around, but I really want a GRIIIx because 40mm equivalent appeals to me 😅
@frame-linesАй бұрын
Haha yes it gets harder with the xpro line, especially the longer you go with the lens… cheers Andy

@ I’ve mostly kept myself limited with the 35mm… Only one native lens in my possession for the system. :) But I’ve got an M adapter, and a 90mm f/4 M Rokkor… That’s why we’ve got the EVF though!
