That first Korn album was something special. It opened my eyes to what music could be/do. Listening to Jon cry his eyes out at the end of Daddy for the first time was such a powerful moment. The rest of the songs are bangers, too.

I still consider Life is Peachy as my favorite Korn album but the self-titled album is, objectively speaking, just as good...if not better in some parts. As mentioned, the raw, unfiltered emotion in some parts is just insane, almost painful to listen to.

I love that album, but I can't help skipping "Daddy" every time; not because it's a bad song, but because it's too dark, too sad, too disturbing, and too depressing. I listened to that song once, learned about the story behind the lyrics, got sick to my stomach, and made sure I never listened to it again.

Thanks for giving Divine Intervention some love, got it at release and it nested in my brain. Most people never understood how mosh pots were fun. Concussions, bruises, broken nose, almost being paralyzed in Machine Head's pit, admittedly I over do it for a little guy in the pit, but really there is little in life that ive experienced that compares to a good metal mosh pit. Most brutal ... Machine head, Killswitch 2nd. Funnest mosh pit without a doubt Suicidal, funnest show I've been too period out of 30+ years of concerts. Best sound was Heaven and Hell, wow just wow. I could go on and on but won't.

Loved it and the whole album. Then Howard came in, and they just went next level. I really miss him as their lead singer. I think Underoath is just as good. They have more stuff that I like than Killswitch. Howard's voice is out of this world, and technically they are great while feeling natural. but to me Underoath will always be the greatest. Every single thing about Define the Great Line is just God tier to me. It's the only perfect metalcore album I've ever heard. Spencer sings a lot more now too so it sounds less like Flipping a switch.

Now I’ve been in some pits in my time. But Hatebreed at Download 09 was the only pit I genuinely got tf out of for pure personal survival concerns. I was 17 and people just getting f’d up around me left right and centre, broken noses, blood spatters in the air. I literally did about 60 seconds in there before going “absolute nope” and got tf out of there and just watched from the sidelines. That sh*t was crazy.

I realize this isn't a new video, but I have to say that I appreciate the variety here, and you had some great picks. The self-titled from RATM is damn-near perfect, Divine Intervention is a great sleeper pick, and As Daylight Dies is peak metalcore. Also, I have huge respect for Charli XCX. I've tried to get into that record, and it didn't really click for me, which is a shame, cause I really wanted to like it. I think that's only because I'm not the biggest hyperpop fan, but it is a very creative record, and I would agree that she does that sound the best

That beartooth album is one of the best hard-core albums of all time. Has great breakdowns, hooks, and this raw energy throughout. One of the draws for me with that album is how real Caleb's vocals feel. You can really feel the pain he is going through in tracks such as I have a problem. It's such a powerful album start to finish. Also a big fan of their album disease. Also love sum41 not sure which album is my favourite, but all killer is up there for me. Such a fun album and really revolutionized the genre. Had a big influence on me growing up. Their newer stuff is actually pretty good too, but most people have kind of pushed them off with the times. Just glad deryck overcame his addiction.

I love all KoRn's albums except for Korn III, and Path of totality. I like a few songs off of both those records, but my favorite KoRn albums are the last 3 from 2016 to 2022.. Been a metalhead for 14 years almost, and my favorite albums over the decade would be: 1) Children Of Bodom- Are You Dead Yet? 2) Between The Buried And Me- Alsska, And The Great Misdirect 3) Periphery 1, 2, 3, and 4 4) Attack Attack! Self Titled album 5) Beartooth - Aggressive 6) Escape The Fate- Self Titled, Ungrateful, Hate Me 7) Loathe- The Cold Sun, I let it in and it took everything 8) Cradle Of Filth- Cruelty and the beast, Evermore Darkly 9) Arch Enemy- Khaos Legions 10) Moonspell- Extinct There's tons more of bands but yeuh.. I love Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Zeal and Ardor, Opeth, Parkway Drive etc... Edit: As a individual Metalhead, I can't stop thinking about Metal, breathing it, working to it, sleeping to it etc... So personally for me you are correct Punk Rock MBA.

Hatebreeder is for sure my fav Children of Bodom album...but that's still a solid choice. Btw, maybe I'm different to other metal fans but I'm fully capable of listening to other genres and going weeks, if not months without listening to metal or thinking about metal. Maybe it's because I was into '80s & early '90s pop, breakbeat and hip hop music long before I ever discovered metal but suffice to say that I'm not obsessed with it and I don't really care when people criticize it or its fans. If anything, I find it amusing.

Shit, I just put 2 and 2 together on this: Hatebreed, Cincinnati, 2009, Cannibal Corpse. Backstory: I was in a pop-punk/indie band with some friends from high school in 2009 and we entered a summer battle of the bands that was fairly large. We were stoked about it - big promotions and some sizeable crowds showing up. I signed us up for the "Summer Slaughter" battle of the bands thinking the name just had something to do with "battling". Jesus Christ, was I wrong. We showed up to the gig and realized we were a pop-punk band playing with 25 local metal bands all competing for an opening slot to that Hatebreed / Cannibal Corpse show! We made the best of it. Most of the other bands were pretty chill and actually thought it was sort of funny. A few bands said it was actually refreshing to hear a change of pace in the middle of the day and an A&R guy told us we sounded pretty good. To this day, it's probably the biggest show I've played and arguably the best show I've played, because none of us gave a fuck when we realized we didn't even care about winning. Edit: Oh, didn't know you hung with Kam too? He was friends with a few of my friends in Cincinnati and hung out with him a few times.

As fucking IF you just said Tony Robbins core!! I swear to God, about 6 weeks ago I put on The Fall Of Ideals for the first time in years and smoked a blunt for the first time in months and as The Weak Willed played I laughed out loud cuz i thought to myself "These lyrics sound like a motivational speaker... It's like Tony Robbins Core", and since then I keep using it to describe shit like this haha!! Wow, great minds think alike, huh, bud ;) All the best, do a History of Shai Hulud vid sometime :P

Altought nowadays i'm more of a fan of death, thrash and grind, Killswitch Engage will always have a spot in my heart. From 2002 to 2006 they put out 3 almost flawless records.

I'm really happy you said Divine Intervention. A lot of Slayer fans were turned off by it but I found it to be better than a lot that followed it and I love almost all Slayer. Btw, I wanna say that Kerry King wrote the lyrics to "Dittohead." Plus, even though I prefer Lombardo, Bostaph is a goddamned beast.

I still remember when As Daylight Dies came out. My dad let me skip school so we could go pick it up. Came with free shirt which still fits to this day, I was in 7th grade when I got it, 29 now lol. And then we went to see a couple guys from Non Point do a little show in the basement of The Thirsty Moose in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Good times.

Check out Flymore from Russia, you may sometimes forget its not Korn. The sound is there from the first 4 korn albums, vibe, lyrics and vocals all VERY similar.

‘As Daylight Dies’ was the very first metal album I bought, shortly after it came out - it COMPLETELY changed my life. Still, to this day, regardless of my own personal connection - I find it to be one of THE BEST metal albums I have ever listened to/of it’s time.

.. when they play at home at toads place people f****** go off. They are violent as s*** but when you fall people help you out.. they're lyrics really are very uplifting. Jamie Mainly writes about overcoming struggle. In a nutshell. Lol

As Daylight Dies is extremely underrated. Obviously overshadowed by the 2 previous albums by a lot of people. But it’s the one I find myself returning to more than any other KSE release.

Yes! The S/T Hatebreed album is the best. If I'm picking 10's off the top of my head, pick almost any The Ghost Inside album, or "Satellite" by P.O.D.
