I’m only 22 seconds in, and seeing Kris bouncing along in a jeep, holding what LOOKS like a shotgun, and smiling with total, legit happiness, hanging with Caleb and the boys… it touches my heart. My hubs and I just moved from Texas to Pennsylvania, and waking up in our new home this morning… we’re smiling EXACTLY the same way. YAY to happy new beginnings. First off, do not freeze the ballistic gel head. They are made to use when not frozen. Tests for penetration are done at 39 degrees F (about 4 degrees Canadian.) Freezing is for Jello shots.

Caleb had a solid point that if you think about is actually a very scary situation if someone ever had to use one of these shit items. Someone will buy one of these things thinking it will protect them and then god forbid they have to use it ever in a situation and it won’t do anything. It’s actually scary that those things are being advertised as home self defense because so many people would fall for it due to their distaste of actual guns, and then either expect it to work to protect their family since it was advertised basically as a home defense system, yet it will just do nothing but fail to protect you and then sadly you’re screwed. Maybe I just am over thinking it but if you advertise it to be a self defense kind of weapon, in my opinion it should be able to stop an attacker in a non lethal way, not just tickle them.

I camp with my kids in rural locations. It's typically just me and them as their father isn't much of a woods person. We also do alot of travel to get to these places. So the kids wear these at the rest areas when they're in different bathrooms etc. We all carry the birdie alarms on our belts camping as bear alarms. They work very well for scaring off predators.

Omg 😱😳 this first self protection weapon clip has just brought back a memory I had forgotten about…. As a mid-teen in the early 00’s with my friend… my mom decided that if I was going out just me and another female friend I had to have an alarm like this on me…. I originally thought it was great knowing I had one and people would notice someone attacking me - only problem when we went in the grocery store, the pin on the keychain got caught on a shelf, I didn’t realise so walked away - the pin was pulled out and shot through the air, across the aisle, and disappeared under the row of shelves opposite… All the while the alarm was screaming it’s head off…. ….and I could _not_ find that dang pin *_anywhere!!_* - my friend just stood there laughing finding the whole thing absolutely hilarious…! By the time I found it I was bright red, completely mortified, wished the world would open up and swallow me there and then… and when I got home I threw the thing on the kitchen counter and refused to have one ever again! So my mom made me sign up to martial arts / self defence classes - which turned out to be real fun.

She's also experienced having to move a few years ago because a couple of guys found out where she lived and tried to see in through her windows with drones. With over 100 million followers across all of her platforms(that's 2 and 1/2 times the population of Canada) I'm guessing that she has been exposed to an excessive amount of inappropriate behaviour from some of them. Thankfully the majority of these unpleasant people will contain their "self-expression" to the comment section, but not all of these people are just your average creeps, some of them are dangerous in the sort of way that the drone guys are, and some of them may be total psychopaths. Either way, Kris is sending a message to anyone who might want to try what the drone boys did, or even worse. That message is, "I'm in Texas now, I'm not alone, we have weapons, I can and will defend myself."
